About The Role

As the VP, Operations & Chief of Staff,  you will be a critical partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, driving strategic initiatives, enabling cross-functional alignment, and ensuring execution across the company. You will operate at both strategic and tactical levels to propel the company forward during a pivotal phase of growth and innovation.

What You Will Do

  • Data-Driven Insights: Define KPIs and deliver actionable insights to support decision-making and drive measurable results.
  • Business Case Development: Establish a standardized methodology to evaluate new initiatives, including scorecards, prioritization frameworks, and risk assessments, in close collaboration with Finance.
  • Customer & Investor Engagement: Represent the CEO in key meetings with customers, investors, and partners. Develop compelling materials for board meetings, investor communications, and public presentations.
  • Organizational Effectiveness:  Ensure on-sites/off-sites are in sync with our operational rhythms, lead business reviews, and partner closely with the Chief People Officer to ensure an aligned and high performing leadership team.

What We Are Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in Chief of Staff, strategy, operations, or leadership roles, ideally within high-growth companies or top-tier consulting firms
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives and deliver impactful outcomes
  • Proven success managing strategic planning for organizations of 300+ employees, with the ability to translate high-level objectives into actionable plans
  • Experience in corporate transactions such as acquisitions, fundraising, or integrations, with a solid understanding of financial drivers and P&L management
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in business case development, investment analysis, and performance benchmarking
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across diverse teams
  • Organizational prowess with the ability to prioritize competing demands and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Trusted advisor mindset—discreet, reliable, and able to build credibility with executive leadership
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
