We're looking for a forward-thinking VP, Group Account Director to spearhead client engagements centered on innovation.
About the Role
As a VP, Group Account Director, you will lead client relationships focused on innovative content solutions. This unique role sits at the intersection of client partnership, operational leadership, and creative innovation.
In this role, you’ll partner with cross-discipline experts to win, implement and grow new client partnerships rooted in AI production. You will work closely with creative and technology teams to identify, propose and deliver new uses of technology to address client business needs and push the boundaries of what is possible in marketing (and how).
You will also drive and continuously optimize processes and commercial offerings that support successful and profitable AI-centric projects and partnerships.
You’ll be an expert in Monks latest work and capabilities, as well as the latest developments within the category.
Additionally, the VPGAD will act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders to drive innovation, margin growth, and long-term value. You’ll lead a cross-functional team that includes account, creative, and operational talent, and ensure every facet of the relationship, from day-to-day delivery to long-term transformation, is world-class.
You will be expected to set and execute a strategic growth agenda, penetrate new business units, and expand our footprint across business units, capabilities, and deliverables. Internally, you'll serve as a senior operator, designing and evolving workflows, scaling AI-powered efficiencies, and partnering with executive leadership to shape the future of how we deliver.
Responsibilities:
- Own the client relationship including the fiscal health and overall growth.
- Understand the full breadth of Monks’ capabilities and how to orchestrate compelling solutions for varying client needs
- Become a trusted partner, understanding clients’ business challenges and be able to articulate strategies to address those needs
- Collaborate with your subject matter expert colleagues to produce great work.
- Set and manage processes related to account operations including finance, resourcing, forecasting, and client business reporting
- Drive organic growth by expanding into new departments, channels, and services.
- Lead commercial negotiations and pricing strategy in partnership with finance and legal.
- Represent the agency in executive-level meetings, QBRs, and joint business planning sessions.
- Lead production forecasting, resourcing strategy, and capacity planning in partnership with studio and operations leads.
- Drive adoption and integration of AI in a long-term, sustainable manner across new and existing client partnerships.
- Maintain working knowledge of AI-powered tools and platforms, advancements in the industry and their applications in marketing.
- Continuously refine and enforce scalable Ways of Working that maximize operational efficiency without compromising creativity.
- Lead the development of AI and tech-enabled marketing strategies including personalization, predictive analytics, generative content, and automation.
- Stay at the forefront of emerging marketing technologies and trends, bringing innovative ideas and opportunities to clients and internal teams.
Commercial & Strategic Growth
- Set and deliver against revenue growth targets, margin optimization goals, and operational KPIs.
- Help define and refine commercial approach to AI-driven work, ensuring pricing and models evolve as our offerings change.
- Help shape proposals for new client engagements and cross-sell opportunities.
- Identify and capitalize on upsell opportunities across the account.
Creative Production Oversight
- Comfortable leading large-scale, multi-format creative production programs, ensuring alignment with brand, channel, and business priorities.
- Champion creative excellence while balancing speed, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
- Act as executive sponsor for key programs and campaign launches, ensuring integration across creative, production, and delivery.
People & Culture
- Serve as a cultural ambassador, upholding the values of our collective, inspiring your teams, and driving collaboration across regions and functions.
- Support succession planning and talent development to build a sustainable leadership pipeline.
- 12+ years of increasing levels of responsibility in marketing leadership positions at agencies and/or client organizations.
- Minimum of two to three years agency experience within the last ten years of employment.
- Proven experience with AI applied to content development.
- Leadership skills that inspire others to want to work with and for you.
- Proven track record of managing and growing multi-million dollar global accounts.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills that ensure our message is always clear and compelling to our client partners.
- Multi-channel digital-first client campaign experience.
- Operationally minded and comfortable designing systems that scale across regions and capabilities.
- Self driven, able drive progress in sometimes ambiguous circumstances.
- Collaborative and persuasive leadership, able to manage large groups of senior stakeholders.
- Nice to have: Background in digital transformation or consultancy roles.
