Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced and trusted VP, Global Tax to join our finance team. This unique and rewarding role requires a blend of tax expertise, strategic vision, advisory skills, and proficiency in technology. The position will serve as the primary strategic advisor for both internal and external global tax planning and compliance, optimizing tax efficiency, and risk management. Additionally, the role is a leading contributor in developing systems, processes and capabilities to deliver the company’s key products and services

The VP, Global Tax will bring a forward-thinking approach and vision to advise the company’s world-class development team on vital regulatory and compliance changes and how best to produce tax, legal and regulatory updates for delivery to our clients. These software updates are critical to keeping our clients’ systems current and compliant with ever-changing global regulations and represent a critical revenue stream in our solutions-based offerings.  Moreover, this leader is expected to spend the appropriate amount of time in client-facing activities to articulate both our capabilities and vision.

The position requires strong communication, ability to think strategically, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to drive performance and foster a culture of excellence.. This leader needs to excel, enjoy and seek public speaking opportunities to small and large groups on the subject of evolving global tax models, reporting and compliance and Rimini Street’s industry-leading updates and deliverables for clients.  

The role will report directly to the  VP, Finance - Operations. The VP, Global Tax will be based in the US and may work from a remote office.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities 

  • Lead and develop the overall Rimini Street Internal global tax strategy, aligning tax planning with broader business objectives, and advising executive leadership on the tax implications of strategic initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date on significant global legislative changes and industry trends, assessing their impact, collaborating with external consultants to ensure sustainable tax positions, and communicating these changes to internal stakeholders. (e.g., Brazil tax system changes over the next decade).
  • Act as principal tax advisor to the Rimini Street Global Product Development Team who delivers tax, legal and regulatory updates to clients globally
  • Communicate and influence effectively, especially with executive leadership, and explain complex tax concepts clearly to non-tax professionals through presentations and demonstrations.
  • Participate in client marketing and sales opportunities, representing how the Company monitors tax, legal and regulatory changes around the world, scopes changes, develops and delivers accurate and quality updates in a timely manner
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws in all regions where the company operates.
  • Identify and manage tax risks to optimize the company’s tax position.
  • Oversee tax provisions for financial statements in accordance with accounting standards.
  • Provide tax-related insights for budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Collaborate with the treasury team to optimize global cash management and repatriation strategies.
  • Guide and oversee entity creation to ensure tax-efficient structures that comply with global tax regulations.
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors and authorities.
  • Collaborate with the Rimini Street Global Product Delivery team on innovative service delivery strategies that may involve building, buying or partnering to deliver solutions for clients.
     

  Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent is required
  • Master’s in taxation, or equivalent is required
  • U.S. licensed JD//LLM/CPA is preferred

Location

  • Remote - U.S.

Experience

  • 20+ years of progressive corporate tax experience, with a significant focus on international tax compliance.
  • 10+ years of U.S. “Big Four” tax and audit experience with public corporations, including experience working with corporate board audit committees and global auditors
  • Technical knowledge and extensive experience with transfer pricing, indirect tax, permanent establishment issues, and data reporting requirements

  • High energy style, flexible and adaptive, with the ability to work well in a very fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think strategically, anticipate challenges, and develop innovative solutions to complex tax issues.
  • Deep technical knowledge of U.S. federal, international, and indirect tax law, and other relevant tax regulations is essential.
  • Experience with tax software, ERP systems, data analytics tools, and tax technology automation.
  • Understanding business models, interpreting financial data, and aligning tax strategies with broader business objectives. 
  • The position is remote and based in the US.
  • Comfortable working within a flexible work schedule that allows for collaboration with and support of team members and activities in different time zones as required, appropriate and expected for a mission-critical global support role
  • Global travel is expected and may be required with very short notice; While length of trips and frequency will vary depending on circumstances and needs, annual travel requirements should be expected to be at least 25% on an annual amortization

Compensation is based on role, location, and level of applicable experience. 

Rimini’s target pay for each position is available upon request during the applicant’s Interview process.

The general salary range for this type of role is 160k - 250k depending on skills and experience.
