About This Role:
Reporting to the chief product officer, the Vice President, Global Events will work closely with the research organization, marketing, and sales to lead our events offering. They will set and execute a strategy aimed at achieving excellent customer experience and revenue growth. This role will differentiate Forrester’s experiences as a platform to showcase the complete value of Forrester.

Job Description:
This leader is responsible for the performance of our global events, and must possess the relevant strategic, operational, and industry experience to lead events globally. Specifically, the Vice President, Global Events will:

  • Lead an events strategy for Forrester that maximizes client satisfaction and drives growth opportunities for Forrester.
  • Plan and produce the worldwide events calendar.
  • Partner with Forrester’s research organization to build compelling, must-attend event themes and agendas.
  • Lead an organization to execute the logistics of all Forrester events.
  • Plan and manage the events budget.
  • Ensure the consistency of Forrester events worldwide.
  • Bring a client-centric, future-oriented, and commercial mindset, driving both improved customer experience and business/financial results. Champion for and drive the go-to-market strategy for Forrester’s events.
  • Exceed business metrics, including revenue and margin growth and the impact of Forrester’s events on the growth of our research products.

Job Requirements:

A bachelor’s degree; an advanced degree is a strong preference.

  • A background in event strategy and operations, events management, and leadership — preferably in an innovation-oriented or technology-based organization. A strong point of view, steeped in experience, on how to innovate events.
  • Strong strategic skills and thought leadership with a proven track record of building an innovative event product strategy and leading the implementation of that strategy.
  • An “outside-in” perspective — the ability to connect with clients, anticipating and instinctively knowing what our clients will find valuable. Possesses the credibility to provide clients with direct value and is customer-obsessed.
  • Previous P&L leadership experience.
  • Proven commercial success, with the demonstrated ability to be hands-on, metric-driven, and results-oriented.
  • Exceptionally compelling written and verbal communication skills. The ability to communicate equally well in one-on-one and group settings, both internally and externally.
  • A forthright yet tactful style — receptive, helpful, expert, and persuasive with a highly analytical and empirical approach.
  • The ability to operate effectively in a complex, highly analytical, and metric-driven environment.
  • Strong connecting, partnering, and influencing skills — getting the most and best out of relationships; keeping people informed; and influencing and partnering to ensure success.
  • The embodiment of Forrester’s values of client, collaboration, courage, integrity, and quality.

Please note that the base salary range indicated here is inclusive of all applicable US geographies listed in this requisition, with the exception of New York City. This salary range is based upon the position as described in the job listing. The offered compensation may vary within this range and is dependent upon the successful candidate’s primary work location, experience, training, education, and credentials.
Base salary range: $194,000 - $316,000
Base salary range for New York City, NY: $223,000 - $363,000
