What you will be doing:
The Vice President of Engineering & Quality is responsible for leading the engineering organization for a $1B global Beauty & Wellness business unit, overseeing the design, development, and quality of a diverse portfolio of consumer products including home appliances, water filtration systems, humidifiers, consumer medical devices, beauty tools, and beauty liquids.
Reporting directly to the President of the Business Unit and serving as a member of the leadership team, this role leads a multidisciplinary engineering and advanced quality organization responsible for bringing innovative products to market and ensuring quality is built into every stage of product development.
The VP partners closely with the Vice Presidents of Innovation for Beauty and Wellness, as well as global Supply Chain leadership, to deliver approximately 30–40 new product development programs annually. The role also drives the engineering strategy, builds organizational capability, and ensures strong collaboration with global manufacturing partners across Asia and North America.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited for an experienced engineering executive who is passionate about consumer products and energized by building high-performing engineering teams that deliver innovation, speed, and product excellence.
Engineering & Product Development Leadership
Lead the engineering organization responsible for the design, development, and launch of consumer products across the Beauty and Wellness portfolio.
Partner with Innovation leadership to deliver 30–40 new product launches annually, ensuring programs meet performance targets, cost objectives, and launch timelines.
Ensure engineering excellence across mechanical, electrical, hardware, firmware/software, materials, packaging, formulation, and quality disciplines.
Provide technical leadership across product architecture, system design, testing, and product reliability.
Quality Leadership
Lead Advanced Quality Engineering to ensure quality is designed into products from the earliest stages of development.
Drive robust design validation, risk mitigation, and problem-solving processes during product development.
Lead cross-functional investigations and engineering responses to post-launch product quality issues when design-related.
Technology Strategy & Innovation
Define and execute the Engineering and Quality strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
Lead Advanced Development and Technology initiatives focused on identifying emerging technologies and developing product concepts 2–3 years ahead of commercialization.
Evaluate opportunities to buy, build, or partner on new technologies that strengthen product differentiation and capability.
Organizational Leadership
Lead an organization of approximately 40–50 engineers, scientists, and technical professionals, including multiple Directors and senior managers.
Build a culture of innovation, ownership, and high performance while developing the next generation of engineering leadership.
Coach and mentor engineering leaders and strengthen organizational capability across disciplines.
Continue evolving engineering processes and organizational maturity to support scale and speed.
Global Manufacturing Partnerships
Collaborate closely with Supply Chain leadership to identify and develop the right manufacturing partners for new programs.
Maintain strong engineering relationships with 30–40 global OEM and JDM partners across China, Southeast Asia, Mexico, and the United States.
Ensure design-for-manufacturing principles and cost optimization are integrated into product development.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Innovation, Marketing, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to ensure alignment across the product lifecycle.
Support the company’s adoption of agile product development methodologies to accelerate innovation and improve product delivery.
Serve as the technical voice of the organization within the Business Unit leadership team.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics
15+ years of engineering leadership experience in consumer products or related industries
\Experience leading large multidisciplinary engineering organizations (40+ engineers preferred)
Demonstrated experience developing consumer appliances, medical devices, or beauty devices
Strong understanding of high-volume manufacturing including electronics, PCBA, plastics molding, and final assembly
Experience working with global OEM/JDM manufacturing partners
Familiarity with regulatory and quality frameworks such as ISO 13485, ISO 9001, FDA medical device regulations and CPSC safety standards
Domestic and international travel required, approximately 10–15%, including periodic travel to manufacturing partners in Asia and North America.
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis

In Massachusetts, the standard base pay range for this role is $206,918.46 - $258,648.08 annually. This base pay range is specific to Massachusetts and may not be applicable to other locations. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skill level, and performance. The range listed is just one component of the total compensation package for employees.
