Vice President, Data Solutions

We are seeking a Vice President, Data Solutions to lead the design, delivery, and activation of data-driven strategies across our healthcare and pharmaceutical client base. You will serve as a strategic bridge between data science, data engineering, and the solutions that connect them—ensuring that complex data is transformed into actionable intelligence that delivers meaningful impact for our clients.
In this role, you’ll oversee a team of data strategists and data scientists, collaborate closely with client leads and pitch teams, and shape both the technical roadmap and applied use cases for pharma commercialization, HCP/patient engagement, and brand performance.
You’re fluent in both SQL and C-suite—equally comfortable designing analytic frameworks and presenting them through executive-facing narratives. You understand the difference between an insight and a datapoint—and know how to operationalize both.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership
  • Serve as the senior-most data lead on new business opportunities.
  • Partner with medical, strategy, analytics, and technology leads to translate data into market-shaping strategies.
  • Define how data assets (e.g., claims, EMR, digital behavior, formulary, access data) are used to drive targeting, messaging, and experience design.

  • Solutions & Productization
  • Build, package, and evolve modular analytics solutions for core commercial use cases (e.g., HCP segmentation, patient journey analytics, omnichannel ROI).
  • Lead the development of reusable SQL/PySpark pipelines, dashboards, and custom tools to accelerate insights and enhance team efficiency.
  • Champion best-in-class data QA, governance, documentation, and reproducibility practices.

  • Team Leadership & Collaboration
  • Manage, mentor, and grow a team of data scientists and data engineers.
  • Set team priorities and staffing plans across client engagements, pitches, and R&D initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the SVP, Data Solutions on departmental strategy, talent acquisition, and team culture.

  • Client & Business Development
  • Act as the data lead in new business pitches—partnering with strategy and creative teams to craft compelling, insight-driven narratives.
  • Identify new client growth opportunities through emerging data sources, methodologies, and tools.
  • Present to C-level stakeholders with confidence, clarity, and relevance.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years in data strategy, analytics, or consulting within healthcare/pharma
  • 5+ years leading teams and overseeing delivery of data-driven client work
  • Strong understanding of healthcare insurance formulary design, tiers, restrictions, and payer dynamics—and how they influence patient access and prescribing behavior
  • Deep expertise in U.S. healthcare data (e.g., claims, EMR, MMIT, IQVIA, Symphony, Komodo)
  • Proficient in SQL; experience with analytic development in Snowflake, Redshift, or similar platforms
  • Robust knowledge of data engineering in pharma, with a track record of working within regulatory constraints (e.g., HIPAA)
  • Familiarity with scripting and data frameworks (e.g., PySpark, Python, dbt, Airflow)
  • Strong client presence, slide-writing, and insight communication skills
  • Comfortable guiding data usage across journey mapping, segmentation, campaign performance, and targeting

Bonus Points For:

  • Familiarity with AI/ML techniques applied to marketing, targeting, or journey prediction
  • Experience navigating medical, legal, and regulatory (MLR) constraints in pharma
