VP Corporate Controller

VP Corporate Controller - Boston Seaport - Hybrid (3 Days Onsite) 

The VP Corporate Controller will lead the accounting and financial reporting activities and is responsible for the leadership, development, and execution of Nasuni’s corporate accounting function. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the VP Corporate Controller will be responsible for financial controls and processes, while overseeing compliance with our policies and procedures. This role will be required to produce timely and accurate monthly financial results in compliance with US GAAP. This role will also be responsible for capturing, defining, and ensuring accuracy of non-GAAP financial metrics, collaborating closely with our external auditors and other members of the organization to complete our monthly and quarterly reporting on a timely basis. This role instills a culture of strong internal controls across the company and will regularly collaborate with senior management across the Company.

Responsibilities

• Direct all accounting activities across the organization ensuring compliance with US GAAP and corporate policies and procedures.
• Oversee global revenue recognition, ensuring all contracts comply with ASC606.
• Oversee the monthly close process, accountable for achieving Company’s days to close target.
• Evaluate and automate accounting processes to drive a faster monthly/quarterly close cycle and improved accuracy.
• Partner effectively with other finance team members and non-accounting functions to drive improved controls and process enhancements.
• Lead accounting activities around potential acquisitions.

• Mentor and manage a global team, ensuring all members are aligned with global accounting policies and best practices.

• Provide leadership to help strengthen and grow the accounting team, with a commitment to driving employee job satisfaction through coaching and development of the team.
• Provide direction regarding any relevant new accounting guidance to the accounting team and broader organization.
• Manage the annual external audit with Company’s independent auditors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA or Masters in Accounting Preferred.
• Active CPA license highly preferred.
• Experience with Big 4 or national accounting firm.
• Experience managing accounting operations, monthly/quarterly accounting close and preparation of financial statements.
• Proven experience working with overseas financial operations.
• Proven experience developing and leading a high-performing accounting and control organization.
• Leadership experience at the Sr. Director level or higher in a software or global technology company.
• Over fifteen (15) years of experience dealing with complex accounting and financial matters.
• Proven success as a Corporate Controller managing complex global business entities with ability to oversee financial accounting and reporting duties.
• Proven and effective leader who can credibly communicate with individuals at all levels in the finance and accounting organization and other associated internal customer teams, with demonstrated experience in mentoring and leading global accounting teams.
• Experience enhancing financial systems and processes to enable efficiency and scalability of the business and accounting functions.
