  • Oversee the implementation of business logic within Aura's data platforms and business intelligence tools, collaborating closely with data engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and efficiency.
  • Act as a thought leader on the commercial analytics team, championing data-driven decision-making and identifying opportunities to leverage data for commercial growth and efficiency.

  • Ensure the integrity and accuracy of commercial data by establishing and monitoring data quality checks and validation processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to understand evolving business needs and proactively develop analytical solutions to address them.
  • Provide expertise and guidance on data interpretation and the effective use of analytics to commercial teams, enabling them to make informed decisions.
  • Drive the continuous improvement of commercial analytics processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and impact.

What you bring to the table:

  • 15+ years of demonstrating experience collaborating effectively with analytics, data, data science, and analytics organizations in a commercial capacity.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Proven experience in management consulting is required, demonstrating an ability to structure complex problems, develop strategic solutions, and communicate effectively with executive stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience in coding (e.g., SQL, Python, R) and a strong understanding of data modeling from the business perspective, with a track record of building out analytic frameworks and modeling methods such as segmentation, LTV, and marketing mix models.
  • Solid understanding of commercial business processes (e.g., sales, marketing, customer success) and the key metrics that drive performance in these areas.
  • Proficiency in data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) with the ability to create compelling narratives from data.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
