Role Overview

This is a highly strategic role responsible for defining the Business Intelligence and Analytics agenda that drives company performance. The VP will lead Sortly’s intelligence framework, ensuring we have the right metrics, models, and insights to guide investments, market positioning, and operational decisions.

You’ll lead a talented Go-to-Market Data and Product Analytics team, understanding that your primary mandate is transforming analytics into a competitive advantage. Anticipating trends, surfacing insights, and advising the executive team on the actions that will shape our future.

Scope and Responsibilities: Team Vision and Leadership 
  • Define and communicate a compelling vision for Sortly’s BI & Analytics function—articulating its role as a strategic driver of company growth.
  • Align the team’s priorities with broader business objectives to ensure maximum impact.
  • Serve as a visible, engaged leader who mentors team members and models data-driven leadership.
Enterprise Data & Analytics Strategy
  • Define the long-term vision for business intelligence data analytics at Sortly, ensuring alignment with business goals and market opportunities.
  • Establish the company’s data and insight priorities. What we measure, why it matters, and how it drives outcomes.
  • Build frameworks for tracking business performance that enable faster, more confident decision-making.
  • Identify emerging data opportunities (internal and external) to unlock new growth levers.
Executive Advisory & Business Partnership
  • Act as a thought partner to the CEO, CRO, CPO, providing insight-driven perspectives on growth, customer behavior, and market dynamics.
  • Lead strategic analysis to evaluate new market opportunities, product strategies, and GTM investments.
  • Anticipate risks and recommend mitigation strategies based on data trends.
Transforming Insights into Action
  • Build and champion a culture of data literacy and evidence-based decision-making across all functions.
  • Drive the development of advanced analytics models (predictive, prescriptive, scenario planning) to guide strategic choices.
  • Translate complex analytics into clear, actionable narratives that inspire confidence and mobilize action.
Enabling Scalable Decision-Making
  • Lead and manage the Data Engineering to ensure the company’s data infrastructure can support sophisticated, real-time analytics at scale.
  • Oversee the creation of self-service analytics tools and executive dashboards that keep leaders focused on the right levers.
  • Ensure data governance, integrity, and security are foundational to every analytics initiative.
Requirements
  • 10+ years in business intelligence, analytics, or strategy roles, with 5+ years leading high-performing teams.
  • Proven success in shaping enterprise analytics strategy in a high-growth SaaS or technology environment.
  • Deep expertise in GTM and product analytics, with a strong grasp of SaaS metrics, customer lifecycle analysis, and ARR growth levers.
  • Track record of influencing executive decision-making through insight-driven strategy.
  • Mastery of BI tools (Looker, Tableau, etc.), SQL, and data storytelling for senior audiences.

Preferred:

  • Experience in corporate strategy, management consulting, or investment analysis.
  • Familiarity with the modern data stack (GBQ, dbt, Fivetran) and advanced analytics techniques.
  • MBA or advanced degree in analytics, economics, or a related field.

Annual Salary: $220,00 - 300,000

The salary band outlined reflects compensation levels that are competitively benchmarked based on geographic location. Where an individual may fall within this band is determined by market data specific to their location, ensuring fairness and alignment with our compensation philosophy.
