Starting a company is demanding, complex, and psychologically challenging. Founders don’t just need funding— they need support, honest feedback, and someone who truly cares in their corner. That’s where you come in.

We’re looking for a Visiting Managing Director to support Forum Ventures, a team of ambitious, authentic, and kind individuals who are passionate about helping founders succeed. At Forum, Managing Directors operate at the intersection of investing and building, partnering with founders to scale early-stage B2B SaaS companies. Our current Managing Directors are former founders who bring experience in growing startups to hundreds of millions in revenue, raising venture capital, and leading successful exits.

This is a unique, part-time, opportunity to join our top-ranked accelerator and team to support 5-10 companies over the course of 6 months. You’ll become a trusted partner to founders, providing them the hands-on-support, empathy, and guidance they need to navigate the highs and lows of building a company. If you’re an ex-founder looking for an opportunity to share the lessons you’ve learned and provide the support you wish you had, this is the place for you.

You’ll also have a hand in building a diverse, inclusive, and supportive community of founders and operators, where every entrepreneur, regardless of their background, feels seen, supported, and capable of realizing their dreams.

The Team You’ll Be Joining

Forum was started from a place of helpfulness, with the mission to make the B2B SaaS journey more accessible and successful for early-stage founders. That same ethos defines how we work with each other. When you join Forum, you’ll find a team that genuinely cares about each other —a group of people you can trust, rely on, and learn from.

We are unapologetically ourselves and value self-awareness, honesty, and humility, and we approach our work with curiosity and an open mind. We believe in working hard and smart, and feeling inspired by each other and the incredible founders we support.

At Forum, you’ll work both autonomously and collaboratively, with flexible location and hours, enjoy great benefits including parental leave, fund upside and unlimited vacation, and when possible, bond with the team when we meet in person.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Investment Decisions – You’ll be involved in evaluating and selecting the companies we ultimately invest in for each program and that you’ll work with.

  • Winning Deals – You’ll build rapport with prospective founders, demonstrate our value and differentiation as a fund, and sell yourself as the person they will build with.

  • Overall Founder Experience - You’ll act as an extension of each company’s founding team, meet weekly with the founders and add value across key aspects of their business.

  • Fundraising – It’s our goal to help as many companies in the program raise capital as possible. A big portion of your role will be to help make that happen – by making appropriate introductions, helping to craft the perfect pitch, and everything in between to prepare your companies to fundraise.

What We're Looking For

  • You’ve been in the trenches: You understand the founder experience, because you’ve been there. You don’t need to have a billion dollar exit under your belt, but you need to have rolled up your sleeves and experienced the early stages of building a company as a founder.

  • You’re a natural mentor: You’ve advised or mentored early-stage founders and have a knack for guiding people through challenges with a high level of empathy.

  • You’re excited about investing: Whether you’ve angel invested, been part of a scout program, or are looking to build your investment profile, you’re eager to grow as an investor alongside seasoned professionals.

  • You have an entrepreneurial mindset: You’re resourceful, adaptable, self-directed and thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

  • You value integrity and excellence: You take tremendous pride in your work, are committed to doing the right thing, and are always looking to level-up.

  • You have a strong network: You bring relationships in startups, tech, and venture capital.
