Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive Virtual Assistant to provide remote administrative support to parish leadership, staff, and ministry coordinators. This role involves managing communications, scheduling, document organization, digital workflows, and general administrative tasks that keep the parish running efficiently.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining strict confidentiality. Experience supporting churches, nonprofits, or community organizations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage parish email inboxes and respond to inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, ministry activities, and parish events.
  • Maintain and update parish calendars, event listings, and digital communication platforms.
  • Prepare and format documents, newsletters, bulletins, and announcements as assigned.
  • Conduct light data entry and maintain organized digital files and records.
  • Assist parish staff with project coordination and follow-up tasks.
  • Support communication with ministry leaders, volunteers, and parishioners.
  • Help manage social media posting, website updates, or online forms (training provided if needed).
  • Perform general administrative tasks to support the smooth operation of the parish.
  • Maintain the highest level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Prior experience in administrative, clerical, or virtual assistant roles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Proficiency with email platforms, cloud-based tools (Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, etc.), and online communication systems.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable internet connection and personal computer.

Preferred:

  • Experience supporting a church, school, nonprofit, or community organization.
  • Familiarity with parish platforms such as Flocknote, ParishSOFT, Realm, or similar tools.
  • Experience with light social media management or website content editing.
  • Understanding of parish life and Catholic ministry operations.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Fully remote position.
  • Flexible schedule with occasional scheduled virtual meetings.
  • Part-time (15–25 hours/week) or full-time options depending on parish needs.
