BlackRock SMA Solutions helps clients customize portfolios for unique tax, values-alignment, or investment exposures across direct indexing, fixed income, active equity, and multi-asset. We deliver world-class service to all of our clients, from wealth advisors to family offices to endowments and foundations.

About this role

The Investment Strategy team explains the Aperio Direct Indexing quantitative investment process, investment philosophy, and strategies to clients and prospects, and supports clients with complex portfolio transition and construction problems involving risk, tax, and customization priorities

Key Responsibilities

·      Support our clients with modeling involving the construction and management of equity portfolios using quantitative techniques (optimization)

·      Explain complex information during client and prospect meetings in an easy-to-understand manner

·      Partner with our clients to understand their goals and construct often-complex analyses that help them understand the tradeoffs among competing investment objectives

·      Serve as subject matter expert on investment content used internally and externally

·      Collaborate with the team and others at Aperio to create and deliver information on various investment topics that strengthens internal knowledge and enables our client-facing team to more thoughtfully and efficiently support clients and prospects

·      Create client-friendly versions of research materials

Requirements

·      5+ years of relevant work experience

·      Excellent analytical/problem solving and computer skills with an emphasis on practice over theory

·      Working knowledge of modern portfolio theory and its application

·      Experience/familiarity with equity risk models (Barra preferred) and portfolio optimization

·      Experience with performance calculations, limitations, and applications

·      Strong Excel skills

·      Acute attention to detail and proofing

·      Strong communication skills, including writing, discussing, presenting, and listening

·      Strong organizational skills

·      Strong client service ethos and skills

·      Comfortable working and collaborating in a dynamic, small group environment that demands flexibility and a DIY attitude

·      Exposure to factor-based investing and Values Aligned Investing is a plus

·      Client-facing experience is a plus


 

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$155,000.00 - USD$210,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.


 

For Princeton, NJ, Philadelphia, PA and Boston, MA Only the salary range for this position is USD$155,000.00 - USD$199,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
