We are seeking an accomplished and dynamic Vice President of Strategic Business Operations to drive the successful execution of our company’s most critical, cross-functional strategic initiatives. Reporting directly to the SVP, Revenue Operations & Intelligence, this leader will establish and mature our enterprise program management function, ensuring alignment between strategic goals and execution across all software development, go-to-market, and operational teams.
The ideal candidate possesses a proven track record of managing complex, high-impact programs in a fast-paced environment, and exceptional leadership skills to build and inspire high-performing teams.
What You'll Do:Strategic Leadership & Alignment:
Own the Execution Playbook: Develop, implement, and refine a scalable framework for program management that standardizes processes, governance, and metrics across the organization
Bridge Strategy to Execution: Partner closely with executive leadership to translate strategic business objectives and OKRs into concrete, actionable program roadmaps with clear deliverables, timelines, and resource requirements
Drive Decision Making: Facilitate structured decision-making processes for large-scale investments and initiatives, ensuring transparency and alignment across all stakeholders
Program Delivery & Execution:
Oversee High-Impact Programs: Directly manage a portfolio of the company's highest-priority cross functional initiatives (e.g., major product launches, platform migrations, M&A integrations, entry into new markets, etc)
Oversee Technical Program Management: Work closely with the SVP of Engineering and Chief Product Officer to ensure the successful delivery of Product Roadmap and drive reliability and scalability into the release process. Ensures that there is a time that is tracked across different project phases of the software development lifecycle (e.g., discovery, application development, post-implementation maintenance). Ensure capital expenses have appropriate governance
Mitigate Risk & Solve Problems: Proactively identify program risks, dependencies, and bottlenecks, developing robust mitigation strategies and facilitating rapid resolution of impediments
Establish Key Metrics: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for program success, providing regular, data-driven updates to the C-suite and Board of Directors
Team Building & Operational Excellence:
Build and Mentor a World-Class Team: Recruit, lead, mentor, and grow a team of high-caliber program and project managers capable of navigating complexity and driving results.
Foster a Culture of Accountability: Instill a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement across delivery teams.
Optimize Resource Utilization: Collaborate with functional VPs (Engineering, Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance & Accounting, etc. ) to ensure appropriate resource allocation and capacity planning for strategic initiatives.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in program management, project management, or a related strategic operational role within the software or technology industry
Leadership: 6+ years of experience in a leadership role, managing senior leaders and cross-functional teams
Financial Acumen: Ability to drive informed decision-making through rigorous financial analysis, using TAM modeling and KPI tracking to measure the effectiveness of initiatives and maximize return on investment
Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle (Agile, Scrum, Kanban) and modern SaaS business operations
Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in driving multiple complex, multi-million dollar strategic initiatives from conception through successful delivery and adoption
Communication: Exceptional communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, capable of effectively engaging and persuading stakeholders from engineers to the C-suite
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. An MBA or PMP/PgMP certification is a plus
