About this role

Within the Aladdin Product Group – Alternatives, we are hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to work on Invest Central, a core platform within the Insight ecosystem. This role is based in London and operates as part of a globally distributed engineering organisation.

Invest Central is at the heart of the Private Markets data platform, designed to streamline and automate complex data processing, validation, and workflow orchestration across the Private Market lifecycle. It acts as a centralised system of record and processing layer, integrating with our analytical platform and downstream consumers to improve data availability, reduce manual intervention, and scale operational throughput.

This role is a hands-on senior individual contributor function, with focus is on designing, building, and operating software in a highly complex, data-driven production environment.

About you

You are an experienced software engineer who is comfortable working on large, long-lived systems where correctness, traceability, and operational stability matter as much as delivery speed.

You enjoy understanding how data flows through systems, how workflows interact across services, and how design decisions affect downstream consumers. You are able to work autonomously in complex codebases, while collaborating closely with peers across engineering, product, and QA.

As a senior engineer, you contribute through hands-on development, sound technical judgement, and constructive collaboration, rather than through formal authority. You take ownership of the quality of your work and understand the impact it has on business-critical workflows.

Technologies you will work with (hands-on)

  • C#, VB.NET

  • Visual Studio, VS Code

  • .NET Framework 4.x and .NET (.NET Core)

  • Microsoft SQL Server

  • TypeScript / JavaScript / HTML / CSS

  • Cloud platforms and services (AWS, Azure), containerised environments,

  • Kubernetes

  • Azure DevOps pipelines and release tooling

  • Agile / Scrum ways of working

What you will be doing

  • Designing and implementing features within Invest Central, focusing on data processing, validation workflows, and integration with the Insight ecosystem

  • Working across the full software lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident investigation

  • Contributing to the evolution of core data models and workflows supporting fund operations, transactions, onboarding, and downstream data distribution

  • Writing clear, maintainable code and contributing to automated testing and CI/CD pipelines

  • Diagnosing issues in existing systems, including legacy Insight components, and improving them incrementally and safely

  • Participating actively in code reviews and technical discussions

  • Collaborating closely with engineers, architects, product partners, and QA across locations

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline

  • Extensive professional experience building and supporting production software systems (typically 10+ years)

  • Strong ability to independently navigate and understand complex, existing codebases

  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in data-centric and workflow-driven systems

  • Experience working on systems where data quality, auditability, and operational reliability are critical

  • Professional fluency in English, written and spoken
