JAS is an international, non-asset-based supply chain services and solutions company. Our services include air and ocean freight forwarding, contract logistics, customs brokerage, distribution, inbound logistics, truckload brokerage and other supply chain management services, including consulting, the coordination of purchase orders and customized management services.
The Vice President, Global Ocean Consolidation Services is responsible for all aspects of LCL Ocean Services for the Company. This includes vetting of carries and review and approval of contracts, promoting regional and subsidiary LCL business, monitoring statistics and compliance of policies. Incumbent is expected to be a key participant and contributor in the Global Operations Steering Committee and World Ocean Team. The candidate can be located in any of the EMEA countries where JAS is represented.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop, initiate, maintain and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the Global LCL program.
Identify LCL Gateways and work with World Ocean Team Members to maximize opportunities.
Create Regional and Global schedules based on existing traffic flows.
Based on traffic flows and potential, identify other markets for consideration.
Promote LCL business through direct support of Subsidiary and Regions/Sub Regions
Working with WOT/WAT members identity and develop additional Sea/Air markets.
Working with individual Regions and Subsidiaries identify and develop Buyer’s consolidation products
Create global tariff based on own boxes and/or chosen providers using and improving current tariff system.
Streamline current LCL providers working with Subsidiaries and WOT members.
Monitor LCL statistics and Subsidiary compliance with required providers and/or own boxes.
Work with RFQ team to ensure market competitiveness globally and on specific RFQ’s.
Work with current roll out team to ensure Business rules for LCL are considered and implemented within back office system.
Act as primary contact for Intra for JAS.
Member of Global Operations Steering Committee.
Member of World Ocean Team.
Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.

Recommend hiring, firing and promotion
Identify and resolve personnel issues
Ongoing coaching and mentoring of staff to develop skills to the highest level

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
College degree or combination of education and experience
15+ years of International logistics transport and NVOCC work plus related industry experience across the broad spectrum of freight forwarding
10-15 years successful management experience
ENVIRONMENT:
100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. International travel will be (up to 40%) required in support of the position’s responsibilities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
