Life at Plume

At Plume, we believe that technology isn't about moving faster, it's about making life’s moments better. Which is why we’ve built the world's first, and only, open and hardware-independent service delivery platform for smart homes, small businesses, enterprises, and beyond. Our SaaS platform uses WiFi, advanced AI, and machine learning to create the future of connected spaces—and human experiences—at massive scale.

We now deliver services to over 60 million locations globally and have managed over 3 billion devices on our platform. We’re expanding rapidly, pioneering a new category, and we achieved our Series F funding in just four years. Our customers include many of the world's largest Internet Service Providers (ISPs) who look to Plume to help them evolve their smart home offerings while gleaning insights from their own data.

With a bias for action and a love for being trailblazers, the team at Plume embodies a combination of relentless curiosity and imaginative innovation. We challenge ourselves to think in ways that other companies don't, work to do what should be done (rather than what can), and if we can’t do it exceptionally well, we don’t do it. It’s how we've assembled a team of world-class builders, thinkers, and doers. And it’s how we’re reinventing what’s possible every day.

We’re hiring a hands-on B2B marketing leader to lead marketing operations and messaging for our SaaS and connected service solutions. Our primary customers are broadband providers (ISPs). You’ll be responsible for helping them understand our value—and, when needed, for supporting them in how they communicate that value to their own subscribers. You must know how to market to ISPs, understand their pressures, and speak their language. You’ll lead a small, lean team and work across Marketing, Sales, and Product to drive execution and growth

Responsibilities:

  • Lead marketing operations: Build and run scalable GTM processes across campaigns, content, and launches. Ensure tight coordination across Product, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Create and manage content: Build sales and marketing assets—decks, one-pagers, case studies, email templates, and landing pages. Keep messaging consistent and sharp.
  • Tailor messaging to broadband providers: Translate our value proposition for ISP buyers across enterprise, SMB, and consumer-facing teams.
  • Support ISP-facing and subscriber-facing communication: Help ISPs market our joint solutions to their end consumers when needed, especially for adoption-driven use cases.
  • Track performance and impact: Measure asset usage and campaign effectiveness. Adjust quickly based on what works.
  • Refine customer targets: Define and update Ideal Customer Profiles and buyer personas based on our product roadmap and market feedback.
  • Fuel sales outreach: Build target account lists and support Sales with messaging strategies for key stakeholders.
  • Manage analyst and review site presence: Keep COMPANY front-of-mind with third-party platforms and industry influencers.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of B2B marketing experience, with direct experience selling to broadband providers or in telecom/SaaS
  • Deep understanding of ISP needs and decision processes
  • Experience working globally across regional buyer needs and market dynamics
  • Skilled in both messaging strategy and hands-on content creation
  • Familiarity with subscriber-facing value propositions and how ISPs market them
  • Able to manage a lean team and deliver results with limited layers
  • Strong with tools like Hubspot, Salesforce, and LinkedIn Campaign Manager

 Why Join:

  • Lead marketing for a company redefining connectivity and smart services
  • Own high-impact initiatives and see your work in market fast
  • Work closely with senior leadership, Sales, and Product in a fast-moving environment

Total Compensation package would include: anticipated compensation range of $232,000 - $273,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.  Benefits include: a 401k plan and a company match, basic life insurance plus unparalleled health, dental, vision and other benefits and perks. Please see here for more details.

An employee’s base salary and its position within the range may depend on a number of factors including job related knowledge, education, skills, experience and other business related considerations. Published ranges are provided in good faith at the time of posting.

About Plume

As the creator of the only open, hardware-independent, cloud-controlled experience platform for ISPs and their subscribers, Plume partners with over 350 ISP customers, including some of the world’s largest such as Comcast, Charter, Liberty Global, and J:COM.

Using OpenSync, the most widely supported open-source, silicon-to-cloud framework for smart spaces, Plume’s software-defined network allows ISPs to decouple their service offerings from hardware and rapidly curate and deliver new services over a multi-vendor, open-platform architecture.

Backed by investors such as Insight Partners and SoftBank Vision Fund 2, Plume is now valued at $2.6B, having added over $500M in funding in 2021 alone.

Plume is an equal opportunity workplace that maintains a continuing policy of nondiscrimination in all employment practices and decisions, ensuring equal employment opportunities for all qualified individuals without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, national origin, age, physical or mental disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, pregnancy, childbirth or related individual conditions, medical conditions (as defined by state law), military or veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local law.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
