The Vice President, Global Sales leads business development for the global public sector, managing a distributed sales team to meet sales revenue and profitability objectives. They design strategic sales plans, coordinate sales activities, build customer relationships, and oversee proposals and negotiations.
As Vice President, Global Sales you will report to the President & CEO. You will be responsible for leading new business development and sales activities with the global public sector. The primary responsibility is to lead and direct a distributed sales team to meet or exceed sales revenue, sales profitability, and budgetary objectives. You will be expected to design, implement, and manage a strategic sales plan that expands the FreeBalance footprint in the global Public Financial Management (PFM) advisory, training and solutions market.
Main Responsibilities
- Grow and mentor sales team globally
- Reach global sales quotas by successfully managing the sales process from plan to close
- Coordinate sales activities and strategic initiatives with sales teams
- Deliver compelling, customer-centric presentations and proposals to prospects and customers
- Present sales and revenue reports and accurate forecasts to the management team
- Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by understanding country context
- Manage sales pipelines of new opportunities using customer relationship management tool
- Oversee all proposals/tenders and negotiations within FreeBalance’s pricing guidelines
- Maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, prospects, and partners
- Attend trade shows or conferences as needed
- Travel internationally on regular basis
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- University degree in Computer Science, IT, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, or related field
- MBA considered an asset
- 10 plus years experience successfully selling advisory services and solutions internationally
- Extensive sales, sales management, and sales leadership experience with global public sector
- Ability to communicate clearly at senior level meetings with government officials
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Demonstrated background of creative problem solving
- Strong personnel development and management skills (mentoring)
- Ability to work under deadlines and adaptability to changing client and market demands
- Understanding of budgeting and P&L responsibilities
- Sales training experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Other languages are considered an asset
