The XFn Vice President role at Portage Point Partners is a client delivery management position that represents a unique opportunity for highly capable professionals with a proven track record and relevant network. XFn Vice Presidents will manage all aspects of strategy, financial and operational engagements creating deliverables with the highest quality standards and impact. Vice Presidents should be prepared to work across PI, OCFO and TRS practice lines managing challenging and complex engagements within a small, collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with senior team members and clients to develop comprehensive solutions to complex operational and financial challenges across the business lifecycle including formulating and implementing value creation, business transformation and performance improvement plans, bankruptcy preparation and execution
- Build strong rapport with C-Suite executives and key stakeholders to effectively support critical engagements in challenging environments
- Work with the Portage Point team of Associates to Managing Directors to manage execution of various deliverable workflows
- Listen to client needs and identify the operational and financial analysis that need to be completed
- Assess organizational, operational and individual structures and effectiveness
- Identify areas for operational improvements, value creation, value preservation and re-allocate resources to workstreams with the highest risk-adjusted return
- Perform liquidity management (cash flow forecasting, treasury operations and stakeholder communications), case administration (filing preparation, bankruptcy reporting, claims support and plan support) and support the development and formulation of business / restructuring plans
- Structure and incorporate streamlined financial and operational processes to improve efficiency
- Develop dynamic reporting tools to identify leading key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Lead preparation of executive reporting packages including KPIs, financial performance, budget, board of director presentations and stakeholder presentations
- Support various operational, financial and management meetings
- Draft and leading key constituent communications / negotiations
- Apply technical competence and adjust approach / analysis for unique situations
- Provide professional development guidance to junior team members
- Support business development, talent acquisition and firm development efforts
- Contribute to creating a high-performing and inclusive culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a top undergraduate program
- Located or willing to relocate to Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles or New York
- Invested in a team-based culture that involves in office four days per week and willing to work at client sites as needed
- Five plus years of experience with two or more years of IB, consulting, restructuring or private equity at a top-tier firm
- High degree of maturity with ability to build rapport with senior executives, middle managers, line workers, private equity firms, lenders and lawyers and deliver high-value work that exceeds client expectations
- Experience in financial modeling including three statement models, 13-week cash flows, dynamic KPI packages and complex ad hoc analysis or the aptitude to become proficient
- Lead clients and teams through PI, TRS, IB and OCFO workstreams including information requests, conducting analysis and effectively presenting key takeaways and opportunities
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, lean team environment
- Effectively communicates analysis through Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint including high-quality messaging, structure and formatting
- Eagerness to be responsive at all times
- Proven track-record of success in high pressure, time-constrained environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including strong email etiquette
- Top-tier organizational skills and attention to detail
