POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President, Business Development will be responsible for identifying, developing, negotiating, and managing strategic partnerships that accelerate AccuWeather’s revenue growth, audience expansion, brand reach, and market leadership. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Business Development, this role will focus on creating and executing comprehensive, multi dimensional partnerships across key weather sensitive industry verticals including automotive, media, technology, travel, retail, insurance, energy, healthcare, sports, and connected devices. The ideal candidate is a highly entrepreneurial dealmaker with a proven ability to identify market opportunities, build executive relationships, and structure innovative commercial partnerships that deliver measurable business outcomes. This role will work closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, Data, Content, Legal, and Executive Leadership to expand AccuWeather’s footprint across strategic ecosystems and unlock new growth opportunities through weather powered solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify, develop, negotiate, and close strategic partnerships that drive revenue growth, audience expansion, data distribution, and brand visibility.
• Build and execute partnership strategies across priority weather sensitive verticals including automotive, media, technology, travel, retail, insurance, healthcare, energy, sports, and emerging markets.
• Develop comprehensive 360 degree partnership frameworks that incorporate content, data, technology, licensing, sponsorship, marketing, advertising, distribution, and commercial opportunities.
• Source and evaluate new partnership opportunities that align with AccuWeather’s strategic growth priorities and market expansion objectives.
• Establish and maintain senior level relationships with executives across prospective and existing partner organizations.
• Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to identify opportunities for weather intelligence integration into partner platforms, applications, and customer experiences.
• Work closely with Sales leadership to create partnership driven revenue opportunities and enterprise customer acquisition strategies.
• Lead complex commercial negotiations including licensing agreements, distribution partnerships, joint ventures, sponsorships, co marketing programs, and strategic alliances.
• Expand and optimize existing partnerships through upsell opportunities, new product introductions, and broader strategic engagement.
• Represent AccuWeather at industry conferences, executive forums, trade events, and partner meetings to strengthen market presence and generate new business opportunities.
• Develop business cases, financial models, and strategic recommendations to support partnership investment decisions.
• Track market trends, competitive developments, and emerging industry opportunities to inform partnership strategy and growth initiatives.
• Collaborate cross functionally to ensure successful onboarding, implementation, and long term management of strategic partnerships.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required. MBA preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, corporate development, sales, or related commercial leadership roles.
• Demonstrated success identifying, negotiating, and closing complex strategic partnerships with measurable revenue and business impact.
• Experience developing partnerships across multiple industry sectors, preferably including technology, media, data, automotive, travel, retail, insurance, healthcare, or related markets.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience developing business cases and partnership economics.
• Experience leading executive level negotiations and managing high value commercial relationships.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with weather, data, analytics, SaaS, digital media, information services, or technology companies.
• Experience building partnerships that include multiple components such as content, data, advertising, licensing, technology integration, and go to market initiatives.
• Global partnership experience including international business development and cross border commercial agreements.
• Experience operating in a high growth, innovation driven environment.
