About the Role

Bat Around™ is seeking an experienced VFX Artist to design and implement dynamic, stylized visual effects for our mobile app. This short-term contract role focuses on creating high-quality, performance-optimized VFX to elevate the game experience. All core deliverables are expected to be completed by the end of February.

Responsibilities
  • Create particle-based effects such as sparks, trails, and other gameplay visual flourishes.

  • Design and implement UI-focused VFX (button interactions, visual feedback, etc.).

  • Optimize effects for performance in a mobile 3D environment using frameworks like Three.js.

  • Collaborate with the 3D Artist and engineering team to maintain a cohesive visual style.

  • Deliver high-quality, reusable VFX assets that integrate seamlessly into the app.


Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a VFX Artist, ideally in mobile or casual games.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing stylized, performance-oriented effects.

  • Proficiency with VFX tools such as Houdini, Particle Illusion, or Niagara.

  • Practical experience with Three.js, WebGL, or similar frameworks for VFX implementation.

  • Understanding of mobile performance constraints and optimization techniques.

  • Strong ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

  • Bonus: Knowledge of 3D modeling principles.
