The Role We Want You For

As a VDC Engineer Intern you will work with a team of VDC experts to execute and manage a range of duties related to Building Information Modeling (BIM) on assigned projects and serve as the resource for the entire project team. Support BIM workflow from design and preconstruction through project completion while developing working relationships with owners, project teams, and subcontractors.

The Specifics of the Role

  • Provide assistance to design build team to facilitate 3D and 2D coordination.
  • Liaison with the design team and project subcontractors through multitude of BIM centric activities.
  • Coordinate 3D content modeled by others and model any content not provided.
  • Perform 4D and 5D virtual building analysis on model working closely with scheduling, project managers, and superintendents.
  • Perform and document collision detection on virtual building model and assist in conflict resolution.
  • Perform material quantity take-off of building model for conceptual estimating purposes utilizing leading edge BIM technologies.

Requirements

  • Must be actively enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited University.
  • General knowledge of construction principles/practices is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible style in working with all types of individuals.
  • Comfortable writing and presenting verbally in a manner that is relevant to the audience
  • Collaborative.
  • Equal appreciation for design and construction processes.
  • Able to manage team’s expectations proactively.

Compensation

  • Intern Hourly Pay Range: $21.00-$25.00 per hour based on expected college graduation month/year.
