SailPoint is seeking a Value Strategist to join our team. Successful Value Strategists are the perfect blend of a customer-facing challenger, strategy consultant, and financial analyst. We help our customers build their business cases.
Fluent English proficiency is essential. Other languages such as Japanese and Korean is preferred.
Experience Required
Software – Buying, selling, developing, using, acquiring, or integrating enterprise SaaS solutions (ideally in identity governance or access management)
Consulting – 5+ years of business value consulting, management consulting, investment banking, and/or enterprise SaaS sales
Executive Engagement – Leading C-level discussions to assess strategic objectives, identify improvement opportunities, and present board-level business cases
Sales Strategy – Partnering with field sales teams to develop creative account strategies and execute sales plays
Detailed Deliverables – Developing customer-facing Excel models and PowerPoint presentations with strong attention to details and formatting
Analytics – Deep financial analysis and modeling skills including the ability to educate non-financial roles in concepts such as ROI, IRR, TCO etc.
Cross-Functional Initiatives – Driving strategic projects proactively across sales, partners, marketing, customer success, professional services, and product teams
Education
Degree in finance, accounting, and/or engineering preferred, but not required
Path to Success:
Within your first three months at SailPoint, you will be supported by a dedicated team buddy and guided through a structured onboarding process designed to build your expertise and confidence as a valued member of our business value team.
- First 30 Days:
Shadow experienced value strategists, participate in internal and customer meetings, and receive hands-on training on our business value assessment (BVA) models and tools. You’ll be introduced to key stakeholders, learn about team KPIs, and become familiar with the tools and resources that drive our value-based decision-making. - Days 31–60:
Begin to take ownership of BVA modeling and slide deck preparation, with ongoing mentorship from the team. You’ll lead discovery sessions for new opportunities and gain experience supporting the full lifecycle of value-based engagements. - Days 61–90:
Operate independently, managing your own portfolio of BVA engagements while collaborating with teammates and leadership as needed. Continue to deepen your product knowledge and competitive insights, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our value strategy framework.
