UX Visual Designer

Overview of Position 

As a UX Visual Designer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the user experience of our digital products. Your primary focus will be on understanding user needs, translating them into intuitive designs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences. This role requires a blend of creativity, analytical thinking, and empathy for users, along with a solid understanding of UX design principles and methodologies.
 

The scope of digital and design projects will range across a combination of people, and technology to obtain a strategic advantage in the market, while
ensuring capabilities are designed and implemented with scalability, reliability,
configurability, and cross functional usability, such as Digital and Non-Digital products, in mind.
 

The position will co-lead or lead closely with business and functional leaders to obtain understanding of their branding, business requirements, create and develop futuristic digital content to for solutional and educational purposes so that informed decisions can be applied in the design, planning and timely delivery of projects.

The primary focus of the UX Visual Designer is to lead and manage enterprise-wide project initiatives, ensuring that tasks and milestones progress in a timely manner with minimal defects. Additionally, the UX Visual Designer is responsible for proactively communicating or escalating any delays or roadblocks that may jeopardize the success or completion of the project.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job? 

User Research and Analysis- 20%

  • Conduct user research activities such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing to gather insights into user behaviors, needs, and pain points.

  • Analyze research findings and translate them into actionable design recommendations to improve the user experience.

Conceptualization/Ideation & Interaction Design/Prototyping - 15%

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define project goals, requirements, and user stories.

  • Generate design concepts, wireframes, and prototypes to explore and communicate design ideas effectively.

  • Create wireframes, user flows, and interactive prototypes to visualize and iterate on design solutions.

  • Test prototypes with users to validate design decisions and identify areas for improvement.

Usability Testing and Iteration- 20%

  • Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to evaluate the effectiveness of design solutions and gather feedback from users.

  • Iterate on designs based on user feedback, stakeholder input, and usability findings to refine and improve the user experience.

Collaboration and Communication- 30%

  • Lead and inspire cross-functional teams through the entire design process, providing strategic direction, mentorship, and guidance to ensure the successful execution and management of enterprise-wide projects.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and visual designers, to ensure alignment and integration of design solutions.

  • Communicate design ideas, rationale, and decisions effectively through presentations, design reviews, and documentation.

Accountability of UX Visual Designer to Other Roles

  • Accountability to Associate/Senior UX Visual Designer: UX Visual Designers are accountable to Associate/Senior UX Designers for collaborating closely on design projects, ensuring that user experience considerations are integrated into the visual design. They provide insights from user research and usability testing to inform the creation of visually appealing interfaces that also meet user needs and adhere to design principles.

  • Accountability to Product Managers: UX Visual Designers are accountable to Product Managers for contributing to the development of user-centric design solutions that align with product goals and objectives. They collaborate with Product Managers to understand user requirements, define project scope, timelines and prioritize design efforts to deliver solutions that drive value for both users and the business.

  • Accountability to Developers: UX Visual Designers are accountable to Developers for providing clear and comprehensive design specifications, wireframes, and prototypes that facilitate efficient implementation. They will collaborate with Developers to address technical constraints, ensure design feasibility, and support the successful integration of design solutions into the final product.

  • Accountability to Stakeholders: UX Visual Designers are accountable to Stakeholders for advocating for user-centered design principles and best practices throughout the design process. They engage with stakeholders to gather feedback, communicate design decisions, and ensure alignment on project objectives, ultimately delivering user experiences that meet the needs and expectations of key stakeholders.

What are the requirements needed for this position? 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, English, Technical Writing, Communication, or a related field or 3–6 years of relevant professional experience

  • 3 years of experience with graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)

  • Minimum 3 years of experience creating animated videos (e.g., Vyond)

  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing dynamic website content using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management

  • Experience with both digital and non-digital product design

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • 3–6 years of experience with strong visual design skills and understanding of interactive design fundamentals (typography, imagery, color, structure, usability)

  • Experience in Agile software development environments (3+ years preferred)

  • 3–6 years of experience co-leading or leading medium to large-scale projects

  • 3–6 years of experience in corporate branding, layout, color theory, visual design, and user experience

  • 3–6 years of experience translating complex design requirements into user-friendly online experiences

  • Excellent prioritization and organizational skills, especially in cross-functional team settings

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and consensus-building skills

  • Ability to articulate ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels

  • Proven ability to convert insights into actionable strategies and roadmaps

  • Consistent performance in:

    • Accuracy

    • Risk management

    • Sense of urgency

    • Adaptability and flexibility

    • Resourcefulness

  • Demonstrated success managing multiple projects and deadlines under pressure

What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?  

General office demands  

Pay Range:

$63,400.00 - $105,800.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
