Our Digital Experience (DX) team is a multidisciplinary group of UX/UI designers, researchers, and technologists who create intuitive and impactful digital experiences across industries such as consumer electronics, MedTech, CPG, transportation, and enterprise software.

Our US-based design teams in Boston (formerly Essential) are looking for a UX/UI Design Intern to help define and design user-centric experiences for our clients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about crafting seamless digital interactions that bridge strategy, technology, and human needs.

Job Description

Salary: $27-$35
Duration: 3 months

Responsibilities

  • Design & Research: Conduct user research, develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs that align with user needs and business goals.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including UX researchers, industrial designers, engineers, and strategists, to define and execute design solutions.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Create interactive prototypes to test usability and iterate based on user feedback.
  • User-Centered Thinking: Advocate for the user at every stage of the design process, ensuring digital experiences are intuitive, accessible, and visually compelling.
  • Visual & Interaction Design: Develop clean, modern, and scalable design systems while maintaining consistency across different platforms and touchpoints.
  • Presentation & Communication: Articulate design decisions, present work to stakeholders, and incorporate feedback to refine solutions.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Obtaining a Degree in UX/UI Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Graphic Design
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for designing user-first digital experiences.
  • A standout portfolio showcasing UI design, UX research, interaction design, and high-fidelity prototypes.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop)
  • Experience with user research methods (e.g., interviews, usability testing, heuristic evaluations) and translating insights into actionable design solutions.
  • Ability to create and work with design systems and component libraries.

Bonus Skills (Nice to Have, but Not Required)

  • Interest in Generative AI applications (ChatGPT, Midjourney, Vizcom, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of front-end development principles (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with motion design tools (After Effects, Principle, Lottie).
