We are looking for a UX Researcher who will collaborate closely with designers, product managers, and marketing to identify research questions, conduct studies, and translate findings into actionable insights. Your work will ensure that product decisions are informed by a deep understanding of our members and their financial needs.

This role will be based in our NYC office 2-3x a week.
What you’ll be doing:

  • Conduct research to better understand our users, their needs, and their experiences

  • Partner with Product Design, Product, Data, and Engineering to help guide product decisions

  • Turn research findings into clear, actionable insights

  • Share insights in simple, useful ways through readouts, summaries, and other research materials

  • Build and maintain research resources so teams can easily find and use past learnings

  • Look for ways to improve and scale research practices, tools, and processes

  • Champion a user-centered approach by bringing empathy and evidence into the product development process

What you have:

  • 4+ years of experience conducting UX or product research in a product organization

  • Experience running a variety of qualitative research methods (usability testing, moderated and unmoderated studies)

  • Ability to synthesize complex findings into clear, actionable insights that influence product decisions

  • Experience partnering with product managers, designers, and engineers in fast-moving product teams

  • Strong storytelling and communication skills, with the ability to present insights to both design and non-design audiences

  • A collaborative mindset and curiosity about how people manage money and navigate financial challenges

  • Experience building research repositories or insight libraries

  • Familiarity with tools such as UserTesting, Maze, Dovetail, or similar research platforms

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
