Job Summary & Responsibilities

At Maslow Media Group, we power the people behind the work. As a national workforce solutions partner, we connect high-performing creative, technical, and professional talent with organizations across industries — including media and entertainment, technology, corporate enterprises, agencies, nonprofits, government contractors, and emerging growth companies. For more than three decades, Maslow has operated at the intersection of talent strategy and execution, delivering scalable staffing solutions, workforce management, and operational support that enable companies to move faster and perform at a higher level. We combine industry expertise with disciplined execution, helping our clients build agile teams while providing meaningful opportunities for the professionals we represent.

Maslow Media Group is seeking a UX Designer to join our client’s Digital Experience Design team. The UX Designer would be involved in creating digital experiences that make it easier for customers to discover, understand, and choose solutions that are right for them.

This is a hands-on, remote, contract role for a designer who pairs strong visual craft with practical UX thinking. You’ll own much of the day-to-day design of the business site, creating compelling merchandising experiences while helping evolve an established digital ecosystem.

You’ll be joining our client at an exciting moment as they explore introducing a new dark-mode design expression across their business experience.

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the visual direction, evolve their component system, and influence how a major entertainment brand presents itself to its business customers.

Working with established design and development patterns already in place, but someone who can build on that foundation, identify opportunities for improvement, and help elevate the overall experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the end-to-end design of company, business digital merchandising, and acquisition experiences. From early concepts and wireframes through polished, production-ready designs.
  • Translate complex products, offers, and business requirements into clear, compelling, and intuitive digital experiences.
  • Help evolve the business website’s visual language toward a new dark-mode design expression by contributing ideas, patterns, and component enhancements.
  • Create polished, web-ready layouts and assets with a strong focus on hierarchy, composition, typography, imagery, and interaction.
  • Work within an established Figma design system while identifying opportunities to enhance, extend, and refine components as needed.
  • Build and adapt scalable Figma components using properties, variants, variables, auto layout, and other design-system best practices.
  • Collaborate closely with producers, business owners, developers, and the broader experience design team to take concepts from ideation through launch.
  • Deliver thoughtful, developer-ready designs and specifications with a high degree of precision, consistency, and attention to detail.
  • Apply UX and accessibility best practices, including WCAG standards, throughout the design process.
  • Leverage research, usability testing, analytics, and A/B testing insights to continuously improve digital experiences and inform design decisions.
  • Clearly communicate design rationale, articulating not only what was designed but the thinking and user needs behind each decision.
  • Balance creative ambition with business priorities and real-world timelines, pushing the experience forward while ensuring work is practical, scalable, and ready to ship.

What You Bring

You’re a versatile digital designer who cares deeply about both how a design works and how it feels. You’re comfortable taking ownership, navigating ambiguity, and making thoughtful design decisions independently, while knowing when collaboration can make the work even stronger.

You move with urgency without compromising craft, bringing curiosity, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills to every challenge. You’re energized by open-ended problems and can turn complexity and uncertainty into clear, intuitive, and engaging experiences. All while being flexible and willing to learn more.

Ideally, you bring:

  • Experience designing customer-facing web experiences, particularly merchandising, commerce, acquisition, or marketing experiences.
  • A strong foundation in UX, interaction design, information hierarchy, and usability.
  • Excellent visual design skills and a sharp eye for composition, typography, imagery, spacing, and detail.
  • Strong production-design skills and experience preparing digital assets for the web.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including auto layout, components, variants, component properties, variables, and libraries.
  • Experience working within and ideally contributing to established design systems.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
  • An understanding of web design and the realities of designing for production.
  • The ability to balance customer needs, business objectives, technical constraints, and delivery timelines.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

We don’t expect one designer to do everything, but we’d be especially interested if you bring experience with:

  • Motion design, animation, After Effects, or video.
  • User testing and A/B testing.
  • Content design or strong UX writing instincts.
  • B2B digital experiences.
  • E-commerce or subscription-based products.
  • Creating or evolving component libraries and design systems.
  • AI + Emerging Tools

Focusing on candidates that understand how emerging tools can expand what designers are capable of, not replace thoughtful design thinking, creativity, or craft.

Experience incorporating AI into your creative workflow is a plus, whether you use it to generate or refine imagery, accelerate production, explore concepts, prototype ideas, or find smarter and more efficient ways to solve everyday design challenges.

Familiarity with tools such as ChatGPT, Adobe Firefly, Google Gemini, Claude, or Figma’s AI capabilities is welcome. More importantly, you bring a willingness to experiment, learn, and explore how new technologies can enhance the way we design and create.

What We’d Like to See

A portfolio is required.

We’re particularly interested in seeing:

  1. Visual craft - A portfolio that demonstrates a strong eye for design, with polished digital work and thoughtful attention to detail.
  2. UX thinking - Evidence that you understand the problem behind the interface and can make intentional decisions that create clear, intuitive experiences.
  3. Design systems experience - Examples of working within, extending, or creating reusable components, patterns, and systems that scale.
  4. Commerce or B2B experience - Experience in these spaces is a plus, but it’s not required. We’re more interested in how you think, solve problems, and design.
  5. Visually appealing work with thoughtful intent - Great visual design will catch our attention. The thinking, decisions, and problem-solving behind the work will be key.

What’s in it for you:

Once you join our team, you would get the opportunity to work with experienced leaders who provide the tools and training necessary for you to contribute to the continued success of our client’s organization.  In addition, our comprehensive and competitive benefits program is designed to support the health, financial well-being, and work-life balance of our employees. Eligible team members have access to multiple medical plan options, along with dental and vision coverage which include the options to choose either a Health Savings Account (HSA) or a Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) to help manage healthcare costs.  In addition, we offer a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) for commuter transit costs to set aside funds on a pre-tax basis. We also provide company-sponsored life and disability insurance to protect employees and their families, as well as voluntary benefit options for additional financial security.  To support long-term financial planning, employees may participate in our 401(k) retirement savings plan and time out of the office programs such as paid holidays, vacation and sick leave, reinforcing our commitment to flexibility, wellness, and sustainable career growth.

Pay Rate: $45-$50/Hour
