We seek a UX Content Strategist with expertise in UX writing to support agile product teams developing enterprise applications for our clients in the federal healthcare IT industry. You will join a team of human-centered designers, researchers, and content professionals collaborating across functions to create products that are useful, intuitive, and satisfying, while driving the team's efforts to generate audience-centered content.
This role is a mix of content strategy and UX writing that will be assigned to one of our projects for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. You will work to align user needs to business goals and to drive UX content decisions across multiple scrum teams. Your work will help put users first, whether they are individual patients managing their own healthcare, service providers delivering care, or government employees guiding health policy.
Key Responsibilities:
Work to support the vision and strategy established by project leadership in alignment with business objectives.
Collaborate with subject matter experts, team members, and stakeholders to understand user needs to drive UX writing and content strategy decisions.
Guide decisions about information architecture, information hierarchy, and content design.
Author copy for UI designs and other documentation.
Create deliverables with an iterative and audience-centered approach to draft, revise, and edit communication deliverables with input from users, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Use content strategy methods to improve user experience and interpret user research to drive content decisions.
Manage draft, approval, and publishing processes through content management systems.
Clearly communicate content strategy, development approach, and rationale of decisions with internal and external stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Journalism or related field.
5+ years of relevant experience in UX writing, content strategy experience, or related field.
Able to provide a portfolio of work products demonstrating your approach and deliverables.
Candidate must reside in the US, be authorized to work in the US, and work must be performed in the US.
Candidate must have resided in the US for 3 of the last 5 years.
Candidate must be eligible for public trust.
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of WCAG 2.0 Level AA / Section 508 and Plain Language Act compliance preferred.
Experience in federal contracting or healthcare IT preferred.
Experience supporting localization and translation efforts.
Professional Skills:
Complete tasks effectively and on schedule as part of a broader development team.
Participate in an Agile process to learn quickly and iterate on deliverables.
Able to work within client content style guides and comply with Plain Language Act guidelines.
Strong skills with content authoring tools and content management systems.
Ability to work successfully with a cross-functional, diverse, and distributed remote development team.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
