Role Description:
BlackRock SMA Specialists in US Wealth Advisory are responsible for accelerating the growth of Separately Managed Accounts in partnership with generalist relationship managers across all advisor segments (Wirehouse, Independent and RIA). SMA Specialists serve as a subject matter expert across the full range of BlackRock SMA offerings including active FI and equity SMAs, Aperio direct indexing and SpiderRock option overlay strategies. They are tasked with developing client relationships, educating financial professionals on the benefits of SMAs, and positioning BlackRock’s full suite of custom SMA solutions for their high-net-worth clients. They are the go-to resource for education and training for the internal sales team. They will be focused on delivering deep expertise and broadening our reach to more advisors while proving a “white glove” experience to SMA clients making BlackRock the most convenient asset manager to do business with.
Primary Responsibilities:
Demonstrate mastery across the full breath of BlackRock SMA offerings – active FI and equity SMAs, Aperio direct indexing and SpiderRock option overlay strategies.
Employ a collaborative approach to partner with various internal colleagues to deliver all of BlackRock’s resources and solutions to the client – strong prioritization and resource allocation skills are key
Utilize custom SMA proposals and client reporting to deliver solutions aligned to the end client’s personalized goals and objectives
Demonstrate a deep understanding of sponsor platforms across the wealth landscape, including strategies available, pricing structures, operational connectivity, and firm-specific nuances
Embrace technology to deliver an exceptional client experience
Skills and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required
CFP, CIMA or CFA preferred
Minimum 3+ years in SMA, ETF or mutual fund sales
Strong financial services background with knowledge of investment trends and advisor practices
Solid understanding of fixed income, equity and options markets
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Strong sales, partnership, and organizational skills, including profiling and resource deployment
Clean U-4
Occasional travel required
Position will reside in a BlackRock office with a Wealth Distribution Partners presence (Princeton, Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, San Francisco)
