A Day in the LifeIn this role, you will lead the usage of price optimization technology, focusing on new business system deployment and adoption. As a thought leader and domain expert, you will collaborate with functional leaders, enterprise commercial teams, and operating units to influence leadership adoption of price optimization based decision-making.

Your responsibilities include:  

  • Leadership in Price Optimization: Lead initiatives to standardize and modernize pricing and contracting technology, driving process optimization specifically for price optimization applications in the Americas. 

  • Strategic Pricing Integration: Enhance and integrate strategic pricing capabilities, focusing on price optimization including customer incentive management 

  • Product Ownership: Inclusive of process, technology, change management and adoptionProduct solutions will automate and enhance pricing processes for offerings, contracting, and tendering. 

  • Data-Driven Pricing Models: Develop and execute pricing strategies using data science to align with enterprise business goals. 

  • Data Collection: Identify and gather crucial data that reflects the willingness to pay across different customer peer groups using advanced technology. 

  • Market Monitoring: Keep track of market trends and competitive pricing to adapt pricing models. 

  • Product Pricing Strategy: Use data science and analytics to establish optimal pricing strategies for new products. 

  • Change Management & Stakeholder Buy-In: Promote the adoption of pricing strategies and provide education and training to ensure effective implementation for value delivery. 

  • Agile Leadership: Lead an Agile Pod focused on technology delivery 

 

Must Haves 

  • Expertise in developing and implementing pricing strategies, tools, and processes using data science and advanced analytics 

  • Strong financial and business acumen, with the ability to develop data-driven pricing recommendations that align with business objectives  

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, influencing commercial teams (sellers) and senior leadership. 

  • Experience implementing Pricing Software including pricing optimization software such as Vendavo, Pros or Zilliant and integrating with CRM. 

  • Experience working with Agile Development principles. 

  • Proven track record of driving organizational change. 

  • Effective communication skills with strong ability to craft messaging across a diverse set of stakeholders including business leaders, commercial teams, pricing & contracting functional teams, finance, marketing and IT. 

Job Requirements 

  • Bachelors degree with minimum of 10 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience with 7+ years of managerial experience. 

Nice to Have

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Teams, SharePoint, SmartSheets, or other planning applications.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$172,000.00 - $258,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

 

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

 

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns.  Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
