Opportunity Overview
This role is ideal for experienced sales leaders who are agile, flexible, and able to navigate an evolving role while being passionate about Rhythms’ mission and vision.
As a U.S. Field Director, in Stage 1, you will work closely with cross functional teams to drive strategic planning and execution of disease education for acquired Hypothalamic Obesity (HO), provide contribution and oversight into the pre-launch training, and continue to build out the expanded teams.
In Stage 2, upon a potential expanded product indication, you would transition to a Field Sales Director, leading a team of ~8 Territory Managers, who will have responsibility for all approved indications.    
 
In Stage 1, this position will report to the National Director, ADMs, and in Stage 2, would transition to report to the U.S. Head of Sales.
Responsibilities and Duties in Stage 1
  • Contribute to strategic planning and drive execution of disease education for acquired Hypothalamic Obesity (HO)
  • Provide contribution and oversight into the pre-launch training plan
  • Cultivate relationships and engage with key regional HCPs, and gather insights to inform go-to-market strategy
  • Continue to build out the field team, as needed

Responsibilities and Duties in Stage 2
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders such as Marketing, Business Operations, Training, Market Access, Patient Support Services, Medical, Legal, and Compliance to understand the needs and priorities of the Rhythm organization.
  • Develop an effective business plan based on Marketing strategy and ensure effective implementation.  Execute a compliant, tailored strategy by applying business analytics and marketplace knowledge.
  • Provide strategic customer insights to the commercial team to help develop solutions for physicians and patients.
  • Identify, develop, and cultivate relationships with key national and regional opinion leaders.
  • Foster a collaborative and accountable culture for the Territory Manager team.
  • Ensure accurate capture and reporting of data by collaborating on the customization of the CRM and drive the training of teams for appropriate data reporting.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and development of the Territory Manager team to continuously improve skills and execute in achieving yearly objectives.
  • Accomplish all corporate and administrative responsibilities with high levels of commitment and efficiency, including Healthcare Compliance training, review and completion of expense reports and other assignments by established deadlines.   

Qualifications and Skills
  • At least 12 years of pharmaceutical field sales experience, including at least 5 years of sales leadership
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Rare disease experience strongly preferred and launch experience preferred
  • Strong leadership skills in leading and inspiring high performing field teams
  • Proven track record of executing strategic and tactical plans that have delivered strong commercial results
  • Strong, proven performance management skills
  • Self-motivated, highly energetic individual with the ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong organizational and operational skills, with attention to detail and sound business judgment
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory environment
  • Strong critical thinking skills with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Ability to travel up to 80% as necessary

This role is field-based. Candidates applying must be willing and able to travel frequently.
