YOUR ROLE

This opportunity is uniquely positioned to help an ambitious transfer pricing / international tax professional develop key business and operational analytic competency that will allow them to become industry leading tax and transfer pricing professionals or (b) build a foundation on which they can move into broader financial roles in Treasury, FP&A, Accounting.  This role will be responsible for monitoring and reporting corporate transfer pricing performance, spotting and remediating potential issues, and identifying and executing potential opportunities for supply chain optimization.  It must work shoulder to shoulder not just with the global transfer pricing and greater tax teams, but other functional leader in supply chain, operations, finance (especially financial planning and analysis (FP&A), trade, and indirect tax), and IT.  Will provide deep transfer pricing, economics, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical experience to position this person for advancement both in tax and within the greater finance function. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Key member of our Global Transfer Pricing Team.  Reporting Directly to the Senior Director, Global Transfer Pricing
  • Responsibilities will include all Operational Transfer Pricing matters for the Group.
    • Drives the end-to-end Operational Transfer Pricing (OTP) process including interactions between the relevant stakeholders (Local Finance, FP&A, Tax Accounting).
    • Collaborates with business leaders and the local finance organizations to provide accurate forecasts, analyses variances between forecasts and actuals to recognizes trends, opportunities and challenges, and assesses and implements accurate measures on a timely basis. Ownership of the Operating Income (“OI”) Schedule used to monitor the implementation of transfer pricing models in each legal entity in EMEA, Americas, and APAC on a quarterly basis.
    • Develops and reviews financial models to analyze planning impact of business and tax planning on intercompany relationships, effective tax rate, cash tax and risk.
    • Works with the Tax Accounting team to ensure the OI of each legal entity is in line with the transfer pricing models in place.
    • Proposes and implements necessary transfer pricing adjustments to ensure the legal entity results are in line with the transfer pricing policies in place.
    • Maintains and manages legal entity intragroup agreements and ensuring the transfer pricing models for each entity are being applied in line with the intragroup agreements.
    • Partners with cross-functional teams (tax, finance, accounting, legal, business units) to operationalize transfer pricing policies and support intercompany transactions.
    • Working closely with the local finance teams to finalize transfer pricing adjustments for the purposes of finalizing annual financial statements in line with local regulations and legislation.
    • Undertakes transfer pricing reviews and year-end OTP process to ensure the transfer pricing models in place continue to be appropriate based on the local entity activities.
    • Enhances the overall OI processes and controls, making sure the necessary governance frameworks are in place. Supports the development of Transfer Pricing processes by driving automation and digitalization, supports initiatives for process improvements and the implementation of changes.
    • Directs the implementation of business set ups from an Operational Transfer Pricing (OTP) point of view on a global basis. Trains and informs stakeholders to maintain internal alignment.

Collaborates with M&A deal team, directly informing valuation models and financial projections for mergers and acquisitions.

Travel: 25-35% annually

YOUR BACKGROUND

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to interact well with people of various backgrounds and levels.

  • Demonstrable project management and organizational skills preferred.  Ideal candidate will exhibit confidence and judgement necessary to operate independently, managing up to ask for help, brainstorm issues, and escalate issues when appropriate (people erroring on the side of over communication preferred).
  • Strong financial modeling skills and aptitude.  Ability to use excel, Alteryx, and comfortable with significant data, financial modelling and working with various excel spreadsheets/ ERP systems.  Familiarity with SAP, HFM, Excel VBA preferred.
  • Experience in broad based foreign jurisdictions including in America’s (US / MX in particular), EMEA (in addition to EU, Morocco, Tunisia in particular), and APAC (China, South Korea, Singapore, Japan, India in particular)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Administration required, Master’s degree helpful.  Accounting training or experience will be given strong preference. 
  • 4-6+ years tax experience within the tax function of a multinational publicly traded corporation, Big 4 public accounting firm; strong experience in with large multi-nationals highly preferred.
