Weiss Asset Management (WAM), a Boston-based investment firm, is seeking a Trading Systems Business Associate to join our Trading team. The ideal candidate is an organized problem solver who embraces a customer service mindset. Candidates must have strong written and verbal communication skills and should be comfortable working through ambiguity. This role primarily supports the trading team but will collaborate with all business teams across the firm, eventually owning key parts of our trading systems infrastructure.
3-5 years of experience working with order management systems (OMS) is required, and familiarity with SQL is a plus. This is a 5 days in office role in our Boston, MA office.
Responsibilities:
Support traders and PMs by triaging and resolving day-to-day issues in FlexTrade
Execute comprehensive testing plans during FlexTrade releases and track issue resolution
Identify and implement infrastructure improvements to enhance system reliability and reduce support volume
Test new broker connections and third-party integrations before production rollout
Help evaluate new FlexTrade features and prepare summaries or demos for the trading team
Maintain testing environments and support configuration changes with minimal disruption to trading
Gather and write requirements for new workflows or system features in collaboration with traders and the senior systems lead
