Job summaryAs a Trader Assistant in Prime brokerage services operations, you will support trading teams by helping manage trade capture, workflow execution, issue resolution, and daily controls. You will develop a strong understanding of trading structures and operational flows, and you will collaborate across teams to drive timely, well-controlled outcomes.
Job responsibilities- Support trade booking and lifecycle processing, including prioritization, exception management, and timely follow-through
- Coordinate with trading and operational partners to resolve breaks, inquiries, and escalations within agreed timelines
- Perform daily controls and checks, ensuring completion, documentation, and timely sign-off
- Monitor workflows to identify issues, root causes, and recurring themes that impact execution quality
- Partner with stakeholders to design and implement process improvements, including documenting changes and results
- Communicate clearly with cross-functional partners to align on priorities, dependencies, and outcomes
- Contribute to strategic initiatives that improve operational processes and supporting architecture
- Maintain strong working relationships with technology, product, quantitative, vendor, and operational partners to support delivery
- Participate in governance routines (e.g., metrics, issue tracking, and control reviews) to promote sustained performance
- Build and maintain knowledge of relevant products, trade structures, and operational requirements from end to end
- 2 years of experience supporting trade operations and/or trade support functions in a trading environment (e.g., booking, lifecycle support, or workflow management)
- Working knowledge of prime brokerage-related activities such as securities lending, collateral processes, and funding/treasury support activities
- Experience partnering directly with trading teams and operational teams to deliver time-sensitive outcomes
- Demonstrated experience identifying, documenting, and implementing process improvements with measurable results
- Understanding of end-to-end trade operations, including settlements, asset servicing impacts, and operational reporting requirements
- Working knowledge of the role of control functions and infrastructure partners (e.g., finance, market risk, credit risk, operational risk, legal) and how trade support actions may impact them
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain issues clearly and challenge constructively
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ownership, including consistent follow-through on issues and controls
- Ability to perform effectively in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
- Demonstrated analytical and numerical skills applied to problem solving and workflow improvement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data handling, reconciliation support, and operational reporting
- Experience in process improvement or change management within financial operations
- Familiarity with external vendors and services relevant to trading and operational workflows
- Experience working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment (e.g., trading, operations, technology, product)
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
- Experience using workflow tools and/or data visualization tools (e.g., Alteryx, Tableau) to support operational insights
- Developing experience using AI-powered analytics, workflow automation, or intelligent process tools to drive efficiency gains, reduce manual effort, or improve accuracy in operational processes.
- Understanding of securities lending and/or collateral management operations, including 2 years of experience supporting a related line of business
