Build and own WebGL and Three.js front-end experiences, including scene architecture, motion, visual design, performance, and accessibility. Prototype and validate products with users, use AI tools such as Cursor and Claude Code, and create reusable development patterns. Collaborate directly with company leadership, communicate technical constraints clearly, and progressively contribute across the full stack using Node, SQL, SST, and Drizzle.

As an engineer at Bask you'll work directly with the CEO and CTO on the surfaces people meet us through first — where 3D does the heavy lifting.

We're expanding our engineering team and looking for people with a deep entrepreneurial streak.

Our serverless platform runs on Next.js, tRPC, Drizzle, and SST across a multi-tenant monorepo. This role starts on the front end and grows into it — everyone here ends up full-stack. We hire people who get bored inside one layer.

Engineering at Bask Health is AI-first and builder-led. Work starts in an LLM to clarify intent and constraints, moves into tools like Claude and Cursor to explore and build, is tested with real users, and then comes back for systems and polish. AI is a default part of how we work, not a side experiment — because moving fast in healthcare requires every advantage.

It's also why we care about real 3D depth. An LLM will scaffold a form. It won't tell you why you dropped to 22fps on a mid-tier phone.

We are looking for engineers who take end-to-end ownership, treat AI as a real collaborator, and care deeply about building software that meaningfully improves how healthcare is delivered.

What You'll Do

  • Own our WebGL work end to end. Scene architecture, motion, art direction in code, and the frame budget it lives inside.
  • Design and ship, not just implement. You'll have real latitude over how this looks and feels.
  • Work AI-first with Cursor and Claude Code. Draft intent, explore, scaffold, refactor with AI in the loop — then apply your own judgment.
  • Prototype fast and validate. Build quickly, put it in front of real users, refine before committing.
  • Hold the bar on performance and accessibility. Fast on a mid-tier phone, reduced-motion respected, graceful when WebGL isn't available.
  • Build patterns, not one-offs. Make the next surface faster to ship than the last.
  • Share what works. Document the prompts and workflows that move the team.

We are a highly collaborative team.

Requirements

Who We're Looking For

Someone entrepreneurial who's taken products from 0 to 1, willing to roll up their sleeves, and drawn to a mission that disrupts how healthcare gets delivered.

  • Shipped WebGL we can open — Three.js or React Three Fiber, live, running on a phone.
  • Highly skilled with React, TypeScript, Next.js, and JavaScript.
  • Real taste in motion, timing, and restraint — and the ability to defend it.
  • Enough backend to be dangerous (Node, SQL) and an appetite for SST and Drizzle. Not required on day one.
  • Comfortable owning entire projects and large areas of a codebase independently.
  • Experience building paid products and services.
  • A strong communicator — clear on technical problems, constraints, and timelines.
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, unstructured, startup environment.

To apply: send a link to something you built that we can open on a phone. That tells us more than a resume does.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
