Overview:   

At M&T Bank, we are committed to safeguarding our assets, operations, and personnel against evolving threats. In support of that effort, we are looking for a skilled and experienced Threat Intelligence Analyst to focus on executive protection. This role will be essential in ensuring the safety of our executives by identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential risks through intelligence gathering, analysis, and actionable insights.  This position will be responsible for supporting threat intelligence data collection, alert triage, investigation, and the documentation of analysis and findings to minimize and defend the organization against threats.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze data from a variety of sources to identify emerging threats and potential risks to the bank’s executives.
  • Focus on threats targeting senior leadership, assessing risk from cyber threats, social engineering, physical security, and geopolitical considerations.
  • Provide detailed reports and briefings on identified risks and recommended mitigation strategies for executives and senior management.
  • Work closely with internal teams such as Cybersecurity Operations, Corporate Security and Executive Support to integrate threat intelligence into executive protection plans.
  • Stay current with global and regional security trends, emerging cyber threats, and geopolitical risks that could impact the safety and security of executives.
  • Monitor threat intelligence feeds provided by vendors, government agencies, and industry groups to remain current on latest threats, determine the relevance to the Bank’s cybersecurity, and report findings to senior analysts for further review.
  • Analyze historical data and patterns to anticipate future threats and contribute insight to proactive defense measures.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure appropriate threat intelligence is collected and shared.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Partners with peers, manager, Cybersecurity team and collaborate with Corporate Security and response teams to support real-time responses to threats.
  • Leverages established directions, policies, and guidelines to accomplish work. Work is reviewed for accuracy and overall quality.
  • Strong understanding of Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), intelligence and social monitoring tools, and Threat Intelligence Platform (TIP).

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 6 years’ higher education and/or work experience
  • Knowledge of tools, techniques, and methodologies analyzing and mitigating cyber-attack stages, including reconnaissance, scanning, enumeration, access escalation, privilege escalation, exploitation, and obfuscation.
  • Basic understanding of cyber-attack stages, including reconnaissance, scanning, enumeration, access escalation, privilege escalation, exploitation, and obfuscation  

Education and Experience Preferred:

  • 4+ years of experience in threat intelligence, with a focus on executive protection or high-profile security.
  • Industry recognized certification such as Physical Security Professional (PSP), Associate Protection Professional (APP®), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional Certified Investigator (PCI), GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence (GCTI), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
  • Background in law enforcement, military, or executive protection is a plus.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $79,157.68 - $131,929.47 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
