Role Summary
The Third-Party Resilience Consultant is a supporting role within MetLife's Global Resilience Team, reporting to the Head of Third-Party Resilience Management. This position focuses on executing the global framework for assessing third-party resilience risk, which evaluates the robustness of vendors supporting critical business processes and services. The role partners with vendor management teams, third party risk management teams, and operational risk management to manage the life cycle by providing guidance, reviewing vendor documentation, and ensuring consistency in resilience assessments. Working closely with the MetLife Global Capability Center in India, the consultant helps manage review cycles, streamline processes, and support innovation in tools and methodologies that strengthen third party resilience across the enterprise.
How You'll Help Us Build a Confident Future (Key Responsibilities)
• Support execution of the Third-Party Resilience framework by applying standardized approaches for assessing vendor resilience across critical business processes and services.
• Collaborate across stakeholder groups including Lines of Business, Procurement, TPRM, Vendor Management Office (VMO), Information Security, Technology Resilience, Business Continuity, and Crisis Management to ensure resilience requirements are embedded consistently throughout the third-party risk management lifecycle.
• Guide and support vendor managers by providing advice and tools to strengthen resilience considerations during due diligence, onboarding, ongoing monitoring, and renewal stages.
• Coordinate vendor documentation reviews by working closely with the assessment team at the MetLife Global Capability Center (India), overseeing the review cycle, ensuring quality and timeliness of outputs, and escalating material issues as required.
• Support resilience testing with third parties that validate vendor continuity capabilities and recovery strategies.
• Drive issue and risk management activities by helping identify gaps in vendor resilience, supporting remediation actions, monitoring closure of issues, and enhancing controls in partnership with TPRM stakeholders.
• Contribute to reporting and metrics by developing and maintaining scorecards, dashboards, and leadership reporting that measure third-party resilience performance, highlight emerging risks, and track program effectiveness.
• Enable process innovation and continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline assessment activities, adopt new tools and technologies, and enhance consistency and efficiency across the third-party resilience program.
• Support training and awareness initiatives by assisting in the development of guidance materials, FAQs, and communications that help vendor managers and stakeholders better understand third-party resilience expectations and practices.
• Prepare presentations and reports to stakeholders and leadership on program updates, assessment outcomes, key risks, and improvement initiatives.

Required Skills
- 2+ years of business continuity, operational resilience, third-party risk, or related experience.
- 5+ years of global project management experience.
- Ability to review and compare controls (can include but not limited to third-party controls) and resilience documentation against internal standards.
- Strong analysis and communication skills.
- Global mindset with the ability to develop and maintain sound relationships with on- and off- shore teams, line of business partners, and third parties.
- Experience with Microsoft suite products.
- General understanding of technology architecture and design.
Preferred Skills
- Experience at a global, regulated industry (e.g., financial services, healthcare).
- General understanding of corporate policies, risks, controls, and standards.
- Detail orientated and disciplined to solve problems with the ability to resolve issues.
- A self-starter, highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Previous experience with Business Continuity Planning (Fusion) and/or TPRM (Aravo) tools strongly desired.
- Master's degree in business continuity, risk management, or a related discipline is preferred.
