General Description:
As a Thermal Analyst, you will contribute to the design and verification of advanced electro‑mechanical systems by performing detailed thermal and structural analysis, supporting system‑level evaluations, and validating models through test. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will develop accurate simulations, interpret data to guide design decisions, and help refine analysis processes and tools. This role offers hands‑on modeling, CAD interaction, and test support while contributing to high‑quality engineering solutions across complex hardware programs.

Essential Duties
•    Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers and scientists to analyze the thermal and structural performance of electro mechanical systems operating in demanding environments.
•    Perform detailed non linear finite element analysis (FEA) for thermal, mechanical, and dynamic behavior using tools such as ANSYS Mechanical and COMSOL.
•    Support system design activities by contributing to CAD design workflows, interpreting product structure definitions, BOMs, GD&T callouts, and tolerance analysis.
•    Develop and maintain accurate thermal and structural models, ensuring alignment with hardware configuration and intended product functionality.
•    Support and execute test efforts aimed at validating analytical models, gathering thermal data, and correlating predictions with measured results.
•    Analyze and interpret simulation and test data, providing clear, actionable feedback to mechanical, electrical, and system design teams.
•    Participate in design reviews and collaborate with peers to ensure analytical accuracy, model consistency, and sound engineering judgment.
•    Assist in the development and refinement of processes, procedures, and standard practices for FEA, thermal analysis, and supporting hand calculations.
•    Prepare clear technical documentation, reports, and presentations that summarize analysis results, modeling assumptions, risks, and recommendations.
•    Contribute to proposals, analysis planning, and schedule estimation for thermal and FEA related tasks.
•    Use SolidWorks, ANSYS, COMSOL, Python, and MATLAB for modeling, geometry preparation, scripting, automation, and data reduction.

Required Qualifications
•    Bachelor’s or master’s in mechanical engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics, or related discipline with an emphasis on heat transfer.
•    5+ years of experience performing thermal and structural analysis of electro mechanical components or systems, particularly those operating in challenging or extreme environments.
•    Hands on proficiency with non linear FEA tools such as ANSYS Mechanical or COMSOL.
•    Working knowledge of CAD interfaces, GD&T interpretation, tolerance analysis, BOM structures, and hardware configuration documentation.
•    Strong analytical skills and creative problem solving abilities, with a structured approach to modeling and validation.
•    Familiarity with Python or MATLAB for data analysis, scripting, or automation of simulation workflows.
•    Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to convey technical results clearly.
•    Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary, collaborative engineering team.
•    Interest in guiding junior engineers when appropriate, while still functioning primarily as an individual contributor.

Physical Requirements:
•    Must be able to work for extended periods while standing or sitting at a computer workstation.
•    Must be sufficiently mobile, have visual and hearing acuity, and manual dexterity to safely work within a laboratory environment.
•    Must be able to climb ladders to use elevated test equipment.

Special Requirements:
