Test Engineer III
Woodward’s Industrial Product Division in Fort Collins, Colorado is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will play a critical part in driving engineering excellence, solving complex technical challenges, and improving processes to ensure the quality and reliability of our products.
Estimated annual base pay: $93,000-$125,000
All members included in annual cash bonus opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:
- Project Support and Leadership: Manages engineering aspects of complex projects or leads specific project components. Mentors junior team members on project tasks and processes.
- Problem Solving and Troubleshooting: Resolves complex technical problems by applying advanced analytical techniques and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Best Practices and Design Standards: Develops and refines design strategies that align with company goals and industry standards. Leads efforts to standardize best practices across the team.
- Design, Testing, and Analysis: Designs, tests, and analyzes high-complexity systems. Ensures alignment with department-wide quality, reliability, and maintainability standards.
- Process Improvement: Identifies and implements process improvements with a measurable impact on team efficiency, quality, and cycle time.
Key Skills
- LabVIEW & NI TestS tand Development: Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test applications using LabVIEW and NI Test Stand. Leverage modular architectures and automated sequencing to improve test efficiency, repeatability, and reliability.
- Test System Design & Automation: Design, develop, and optimize automated test systems for product validation and manufacturing environments. Experience with data acquisition, instrumentation, and control systems is highly valued.
- Validation & Verification Engineering: Create and execute comprehensive test plans, procedures, and validation protocols to ensure products meet performance, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Problem Solving & Root Cause Analysis: Diagnose complex product, test equipment, and manufacturing issues using structured troubleshooting techniques, statistical analysis, and data-driven decision-making.
- Test Equipment, Instrumentation & Safety: Design, integrate, and support test equipment and instrumentation while maintaining a strong commitment to safe testing practices, risk assessment, machine safety, and compliance with applicable safety standards.
- Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement: Analyze test data to identify trends, improve test coverage, increase throughput, and drive process improvements that enhance quality, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration & Technical Communication: Partner effectively with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations teams to develop test solutions, communicate findings, and support product launches.
- Flow Testing & Product Performance Evaluation (Preferred): Experience developing or supporting flow, pressure, hydraulic, pneumatic, or fluid system testing is highly desirable. Ability to evaluate product performance and correlate test results to real-world operating conditions.
Other Qualifications:
- 4 Year Bachelors BS or 10+ years equivalent experience
