Job Summary

Summary
Provides assistance to the Principal Investigator and Study Team in coordinating research activities that may include conducting a variety of routine experiments with established methodologies, data collection and management, and other research activities as assigned.
Candidates who are in the process of completing their bachelor's degree have a grace period of six months from their hire date (up to 1 year if starting per diem) to provide degree equivalency verification.

Essential Functions
-Responsible for data collection, management, manipulation, analysis, and reporting.
-Study cohort management.
-Outreach communication with subjects, conducting mailings, follow-up on mailings, and obtaining necessary documents.
-Provides assistance on work related to epidemiological studies and other population-based research.


 

Qualifications

We are seeking a temp (per diem) Research Assistant who can assist with the following research tasks:

Providing assistance with writing manuscripts
-  assist with writing scientific manuscripts on eye diseases

- conducting scientific literature reviews

- assist with technical reviews of manuscripts

- assist with submitting papers to journals and helping to respond to comments from reviewers

Assist with various administrative tasks

- assist with writing content for the NHS/NHS2 intranet site (e.g., to help new investigators learn about how to analyze cohort data and to learn about completed past sub studies
- assist with assessing the feasibility of a proposed study by an external investigators and assist with processing paperwork involved in onboarding new investigators.

Skills needed
- Understanding of basic biology.  
- Proficiency in conducting literature reviews.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Programming skills (R, SAS) preferred.
