  • Proactively follow up with agencies and stakeholders to keep permits moving in alignment with construction schedules.

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience permitting within railroad corridors or railroad ROW.
  • Ability to independently determine permitting jurisdiction, scope, and next steps based on construction plans.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple permits.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, PDF software, Google Earth and permitting or tracking databases.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable operating independently, asking targeted questions when necessary, and owning their scope from intake through approval.

Benefits & Compensation
  • Competitive salary + performance-based bonuses.
  • Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
  • Generous PTO and travel support.
  • Ongoing professional development and educational opportunities.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
