Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Writer to analyze, test, and assist in research for the development of products and processes. This position will be full-time and onsite with flexible working hours: 8 am - 4 pm or 9 am - 5 pm, Monday through Friday, located in Milpitas, CA.

What You’ll Do

  • Research, organize, write, edit, and produce documentation

  • Organize material and write descriptive copy according to standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology

  • Plan, prioritize, and manage multiple engineering projects to ensure team resources are used effectively and project deadlines are met

  • Evaluate and authorize changes that impact the scope, budget, or timeline of a project

  • Work directly with customers to understand needs, gather requirements, and assess project risks

  • Create, develop, plan, write, and edit operational, instructional, maintenance, or test procedures for paper, multimedia, or web-based publication, for both non-technical and technical users

What You'll Need

Required:

  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Job Level 3, 4, or 5)

  • Knowledge of how to work efficiently with Styles, Tables, and automatically generated tables of content

  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat Reader or similar PDF writing software

  • Experience with procedures, forms, and instructions.

  • Experience with quality or environmental management systems

Physical Demands

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards

  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor

  • Must be able to communicate with customers and team members over the phone and in person

  • Sedentary work involving sitting or remaining stationary most of the time, with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.

$45.00-$50.00 per hour

The pay range for this position is listed above. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, experience, and education. Benefit packages include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as 401k retirement account access. Employees in this role may also be entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
