Prowess Consulting is looking for an experienced Technical Strategist and Subject-Matter-Expert (SME) with an advanced understanding of technology, particularly with respect to the partner/alliance marketing experience. This person will distill complex solutions and customer value propositions into clear examples and stories and then work with a team of technical writers who would develop deliverables for our high-tech client. In this role, you’ll use your knowledge about business processes used by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), independent software vendors (ISVs), and their customer companies for marketing and sales support.

The Role
- Be a subject matter expert (SME) in various tech domains including client devices and edge to cloud solutions, providing valuable insights and persuasive narratives. Your knowledge will help our client stay ahead in the competitive tech landscape.
- Support client relationship managers in identifying and scoping opportunities to apply Prowess capabilities to client initiatives.
- Ensure consistent messaging is used for relevance to specific audiences across market segments and workload scenarios.
- Understand our tech clients from both a technical and a corporate strategy perspective. Work with a diverse team of professionals, sharing your expertise and feedback within an efficient workflow managed to produce quality deliverables on time and on budget.
- Provide strategic support in the creation of sales enablement materials, joint marketing activities, and partner sales teams asset support.
- Support the development of joint value propositions. Identify and articulate the mutual benefits of client’s partnerships to drive growth and success.
- Provide input and guidance from a technical perspective on marketing and sales messages, claims and positioning that will resonate with the B2B target audience.
- Review messaging frameworks
- Review technical claims
- Review technical accuracy in deliverables such as white papers, technical research studies, infographics
- Drive prioritization of claims and messages that will be most effective for the target audience (e.g. engineer, ITDM, CxO)
- Ensure claims are supported by verifiable facts and sources
- Provide recommendations on overall approach, strategy, and tactics for impactful B2B marketing and sales programs.
- Provide input on the key topics to cover:
- Recommend positioning and messaging to help differentiate products and solutions
- Recommend questions to customer SMEs for interviews and areas of research to complete
- Conduct research on specific topics. Write/create summary documents for internal use by the writing/design teams.
- Deliver options for different approaches to engage with a technical audience
- Make sense of complex technical solutions, options, technologies for the internal writing team.
- Engage with customers with the account directors to help close the deal. Demonstrating Prowess’ ability to deliver on technical content.
- Engage with customers on defining the project scope, deliverables, objectives.
- Review content and output during the development phases.
Qualifications
Required
- 7-10 years of marketing/communications experience with high-tech clients. Experience with Intel, Dell, and/or AMD is a plus. PR experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated understanding of marketing motions, key deliverables, and roles.
- Demonstrated ability to draft proposal briefs for marketing and sales enablement materials.
- Demonstrated understanding of sales roles and deliverables.
- Applicable knowledge of technologies used in the IT sector across different business units (e.g. understands the differences between servers, clients, networks, applications)
- Proven track record of building successful partner and alliance marketing programs to support sales enablement and drive revenue growth.
- Proven experience in partner marketing, with a focus on B2B technology partnerships and alliances.
- Strong understanding of product marketing principles and best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, with tact and diplomacy.

- The offered pay range for this position is $110.00 – 150.00 per hour, depending on experience and geographic location.
