What is Loancrate?

We started Loancrate to make home-buying simpler and less expensive for lenders and borrowers (us!). Today, mortgage lenders are stuck running their companies on software products built 20 years ago. These products are slow, unstable, and don’t lead to material improvements in efficiency. When using these systems, the average human cost to originate a loan is still over $11,000.

Loancrate builds AI-native tooling to automate mortgage workflows. Our ultimate goal is fully automated origination, which has the potential to save lenders over $16B in operating expense per year.

Since starting in 2020, our remote team has enabled customers to power >$85 billion in new home loans. We’re a group of people excited to tackle the complexity of the home-lending industry. We value collaboration, open communication, and learning quickly from our decisions.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for our first internal technical recruiter to help us build our hiring engine from the ground up.

This is a foundational role. You will work directly with founders and engineering leaders to design and run our recruiting function, with a strong focus on execution and speed.

This is a hands-on, sourcing-heavy role. Your primary focus will be:

🔍 Proactively sourcing engineering candidates

📞 Running initial phone screens

📊 Managing candidates through the recruiting pipeline

⚙️ Creating the early recruiting systems and processes

Our leadership and engineering team will handle the later-stage technical and final interviews. Your role is to ensure we always have a strong, qualified pipeline moving smoothly into those stages.

We move quickly and expect to run high-velocity hiring cycles when needed. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building from zero, sourcing directly, and executing sizable hiring pushes without a large recruiting team.

What You’ll Do

🔍 Source senior software engineers across LinkedIn, GitHub, and other channels

📋 Build and manage targeted candidate pipelines for multiple roles

📞 Run initial recruiter phone screens

🎯 Assess candidate alignment on experience, motivation, and compensation

➡️ Move qualified candidates into technical interview loops

📅 Coordinate interview scheduling and candidate communication

🗂️ Keep pipelines organized and up to date in the ATS

🤝 Partner with founders and engineering leaders to refine search criteria

✏️ Improve job descriptions, outreach messaging, and hiring workflows

🏗️ Help establish the foundation of Loancrate’s recruiting function

What Success Looks Like

Within your first 30 days, you will:

🛠️ Build active pipelines for multiple engineering roles

📨 Deliver a steady flow of qualified candidates into technical interviews

🔁 Establish a consistent weekly cadence of screens and interview handoffs

🚀 Help the team execute its first high-velocity hiring cycles

Preferred Skills and Background

(It’s okay not to have all of these.)

💻 Experience recruiting senior software engineers

🎯 Strong sourcing and outbound recruiting skills

⚡ Track record of supporting high-volume or fast-paced hiring efforts

🌱 Experience working with startups or high-growth teams

🤝 Comfortable working directly with founders and engineering leaders

📋 Organized, responsive, and execution-focused

🏗️ Excited about being the first recruiter and building the function over time

Compensation

The expected base salary range for this role is $100,000–$150,000 per year, depending on experience. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Loancrate is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.
