About Us:

We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft.

We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like OpenAI, Toyota, Figma, Ramp, and thousands more on this journey with us. Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.

Notion is an in person company, and currently requires its employees to come to the office for two Anchor Days (Mondays & Thursdays) and requests that employees spend the majority of their week in the office (including a third day).

About the Role:

We're looking for a talented Technical Recruiter to join our People team! This unique role blends art and science—you'll be a key advisor helping shape Notion's future by bringing on exceptional technical talent while maintaining our high standards. Working closely with engineering leaders, you'll understand their needs, share valuable insights, and create strategies to build strong, diverse teams. You'll also help improve our technical recruiting process and contribute to our overall recruiting vision.

What You'll Achieve:
  • Own the full-cycle recruiting process from sourcing through successful close, ensuring the candidate experience is thoughtful & warm every step of the way
  • Build trusted partnerships with hiring managers by acting as a strategic advisor, focusing on maintaining high talent density through thoughtful hiring decisions
  • Continuously optimize efficiency throughout the recruiting process by implementing and refining scalable & structured interview plans for all of our roles, while leveraging data to measure and improve our recruiting effectiveness
  • Stay informed on market research and competitive intelligence to stay current on tech and AI hiring trends
  • Drive our diversity and inclusion strategy forward (internally called IDEA), with a heavy emphasis on sourcing candidates from under-represented backgrounds
  • Experience with technical sourcing tools and boolean search strategies
Skills You Need to Bring:
  • 6+ years of experience in technical recruiting focused on engineering, preferably in a startup environment
  • Proven track record of identifying, qualifying, and closing exceptional technical talent
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills—you deliver high-quality recruiting experiences while respecting candidates' and hiring managers' time
  • Team-player mentality and positive attitude—as part of a small organization, you're comfortable wearing multiple hats
  • Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and follow-through
Nice to Haves:
  • You're familiar with Greenhouse, Ashby and Gem
  • Notion power-user!

We hire talented and passionate people from a variety of backgrounds because we want our global employee base to represent the wide diversity of our customers. If you’re excited about a role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every bullet point listed in the job description, we still encourage you to apply. If you’re a builder at heart, share our company values, and enthusiastic about making software toolmaking ubiquitous, we want to hear from you.

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
