The Role

The Technical Project Manager (TPM) — Professional Services drives WEKA’s Forward Deployed Experience, embedding named teams inside customer builds from initial design through final acceptance. As the primary point of coordination across customers, infrastructure partners, OEMs, and channels, the TEM manages concurrent 90–120 day, multi-phase builds. This role owns the build phase before seamlessly handing off to run-state operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrated Project Ownership: Own end-to-end delivery of complex builds. Maintain a unified schedule acting as the single source of truth across all internal and external parties.
  • Customer & Partner Leadership: Serve as the trusted lead for customer IT leadership and partners. Direct executive status calls, manage multi-vendor dynamics, and resolve issues proactively.
  • Technical & Scope Governance: Partner with Solutions Architects and Sales to manage dependencies, evaluate scope risks, and execute strict change control.
  • Risk Mitigation & Delivery: Identify cross-party schedule risks weeks in advance. Implement mitigation plans and resolve blockers early using data-backed escalations.
  • Acceptance & Transition: Define phased acceptance plans and partner with Premium Services and Customer Success to ensure seamless operational handoffs and identify growth opportunities.
  • Practice Improvement: Refine Professional Services playbooks, templates, and methodologies. Mentor junior engagement managers and contribute to practice growth.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5–8+ years in technical program management within professional services, enterprise infrastructure, or consulting. Proven success in fixed-fee and time-and-materials delivery models.
  • Cross-Vendor Coordination: Demonstrated ability to align and hold accountable multi-party teams (customers, OEMs, integrators, channels) without direct contractual authority.
  • Domain & Technical Acumen: Working knowledge of deployment architectures, networked storage, AI/ML, or HPC infrastructure.
  • Methodology & Certifications: PMP or PRINCE2 required. Expertise in Waterfall/Agile delivery, budget tracking, change management, and phased acceptance.
  • Communication & Leadership: Exceptional executive presence, relationship management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

The WEKA Way:

  • We are Accountable: We take full ownership, always–even when things don’t go as planned. We lead with integrity, show up with responsibility & ownership, and hold ourselves and each other to the highest standards.
  • We are Brave: We question the status quo, push boundaries, and take smart risks when needed. We welcome challenges and embrace debates as opportunities for growth, turning courage into fuel for innovation.
  • We are Collaborative: True collaboration isn’t only about working together. It’s about lifting one another up to succeed collectively. We are team-oriented and communicate with empathy and respect. We challenge each other and conduct positive conflict resolution. We are being transparent about our goals and results. And together, we’re unstoppable.
  • We are Customer Centric: Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. We actively listen and prioritize the success of our customers, and every decision we make is driven by how we can better serve, support, and empower them to succeed. When our customers win, we win.
