About Emerald AI

We’re at a pivotal moment for AI and energy. Demand for compute is skyrocketing, but power constraints are becoming a critical bottleneck. Emerald AI sits at the intersection of these two worlds, enabling AI data centers to scale without overwhelming the grid.

Our Emerald Conductor software platform makes data centers flexible and responsive, allowing them to adjust power usage dynamically. This unlocks massive AI growth without major new infrastructure, while also strengthening the grid and supporting the expansion of renewable energy.

We’re a team of experts across AI, cloud, software, and energy—on a mission to scale AI sustainably. We’re backed by leading investors and partners including Radical Ventures and NVIDIA.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Technical Program Manager to drive complex, cross-functional initiatives at Emerald AI. You’ll play a critical role in turning Emerald’s vision of power-flexible AI data centers into reality - coordinating software, infrastructure, and partner efforts to enable data centers to dynamically respond to grid conditions.

This role sits at the center of how we execute: working across engineering, product, and operations to bring up new deployments, integrate with data center and utility environments, and deliver tightly coordinated programs with strategic partners (e.g., NVIDIA and others in the ecosystem).

You’ll be responsible for aligning roadmaps across internal teams and external stakeholders, managing dependencies, and driving clarity in environments where requirements, constraints, and timelines are often evolving.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead technical programs with strategic partners, aligning roadmaps, milestones, and deliverables

  • Break down complex initiatives into clear workstreams, timelines, and dependencies

  • Translate requirements, constraints, and system designs across organizational boundaries

  • Establish and improve program management processes, tools, and operating rhythms

  • Identify and resolve cross-company risks, misalignments, and dependency gaps

  • Support partner integrations, deployments, and technical collaborations

  • Contribute to success metrics, including deliverables, timelines, and outcomes

Minimum requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, Engineering, or similar cross functional roles

  • Strong technical fluency with the ability to engage with engineers on architecture, systems, and tradeoffs

  • Proven track record of delivering complex, cross-functional technical programs

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to influence without authority

  • Experience operating in fast-moving, ambiguous environments (startup experience strongly preferred)

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to balance execution with strategic thinking

Preferred requirements
  • Background in software engineering, systems engineering, or technical operations

  • Experience working with external partners, vendors, or ecosystem stakeholders on technical programs (e.g., NVIDIA, hyperscalers, OEMs)

  • Experience working with AI infrastructure, data centers, or distributed systems, including familiarity with compute, networking, and/or power constraints

What We Offer
  • Make an impact. Solve the AI power bottleneck and shape how data centers scale sustainably.

  • Join a world-class team of AI, cloud, software, and energy experts in a collaborative, low-ego environment.

  • Build from 0→1. Influence strategy, GTM, org design, and customer/investor engagement from day one.

  • Competitive pay + equity. Stock options let you share in the value you help create.

  • Comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) matching.

  • Flexible location. Work from D.C., Boston, or the Bay Area, with 2 WFH days/week.

  • Backed by top investors, including Radical Ventures and NVIDIA.
