About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our team and play a critical role in bridging our Engineering and Research functions. As a strategic partner to the CTO, you will own the end-to-end execution of key technical programs, ensuring alignment with company priorities and driving them forward with clarity and urgency.

You will be the connective tissue between our brilliant researchers and innovative engineers, translating ideas into actionable plans, aligning stakeholders, and removing roadblocks to deliver real impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Strategy & Execution: Own the end-to-end delivery of critical programs, defining roadmaps, setting timelines, and driving accountability to ensure successful outcomes.

  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between Engineering and Research teams, translating research insights into actionable engineering plans and ensuring technical feasibility and clarity.

  • Prioritization & Planning: Work closely with leadership to prioritize initiatives, balancing immediate needs with long-term strategic goals, and ensuring effective resource allocation.

  • Operational Excellence: Build and maintain efficient systems for tracking progress, identifying risks, and reporting program status, while continually improving program management practices.

  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with the CTO and leaders across product, data, and design teams to drive program visibility, alignment, and organizational support.

What We're Looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, preferably in high-growth or R&D heavy environments
  • Proven experience working across engineering and research teams, ideally in domains like AI/ML, advanced analytics, or emerging technologies
  • Strong technical acumen; able to engage in deep conversations with engineers and researchers alike
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable operating independently and driving clarity in ambiguous environments
  • Experience with agile development practices and modern tooling (e.g., Jira, Notion, Asana, etc.)

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a startup or fast-paced tech environment
  • Background in software engineering, computer science, or a related technical field
  • Exposure to AI/ML or advanced research-driven product development

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
