Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.

To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems.

Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.

Our growing Enterprise Applications team is looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager who is deeply passionate about the Salesforce Platform. You are a platform evangelist and have the experience to back it up!

You will own a program to work with our Salesforce Platform Engineering team to manage, maintain, and improve the performance, security, usage, and effectiveness of the platform across a wide variety of business units (e.g. CX, Sales, Marketing, etc.). You will evaluate, prioritize, plan, and execute cross functional initiatives for the platform to improve the system for both end users and developers at Coinbase. You are well versed on the platform’s capabilities and have experience assessing and making tradeoffs for growing and scaling the platform in multi-org environments with large data volumes. You are comfortable and confident with highly technical problems and have deep experience with Salesforce. You will work with Product Managers, Technical Program Managers, and Engineers across the Enterprise Apps and Architecture team to coordinate and communicate initiatives on the platform roadmap and assess impacts to the business units that your peers support. You will report to a Group Product Manager on a team of PMs and TPMs within our Enterprise Applications and Architecture organization.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Proactively builds relationships with key cross functional stakeholders across a wide variety of teams.
  • Develop prioritization mechanisms for the Salesforce Platform program (security investments, scalability investments, etc.)
  • Proactively identify and coordinate dependencies across multiple engineering teams
  • Manage large scale projects that are highly technical & cross functional in nature. Maintain top-down oversight throughout entire execution to ensure success as defined by adherence to standards of scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Contribute technical expertise while coordinating the delivery of a variety of initiatives across the team
  • Collaborate with cross functional Product Managers and Engineering teams to identify, scope, and deliver non-functional requirements
  • Participate in resource planning and allocation for delivery
  • Maintain project timelines, milestones, risk trackers, decision logs and regular status reports
  • Communicate risks, status, and timelines to partners and senior management
  • Communicate proactively with all involved project team members to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement process improvements
  • Provide visibility in Signal Lights (internal process for project tracking)
  • Maintain compliance with IT and security policies and procedures

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • BA/BS in Engineering, Computer Sciences, or Business Administration desired
  • 2+ years experience in technical roles working on the Salesforce Platform (BSA, Engineer, Technical Product or Program Manager).
  • Experience working across large, complex, cross-functional business units (Product & Engineering, Compliance, Legal, Sales, Customer Support and Security)
  • Strong prioritization methods with communication (written and verbal) skills to navigate tough trade off discussions
  • Experience tackling complex, ambiguous technical challenges
  • Background working within an Agile environment and using Jira

Nice to haves:

  • You have 2-4 different active certifications on the Salesforce Platform and are an experienced Trailblazer

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
