About the TeamThe AI Context Group within the Data Platform Product Line is building the foundation that powers intelligent experiences across HubSpot.
Our work focuses on making HubSpot’s AI capabilities meaningfully smarter by leveraging rich context about our customers — their brand identity, products, markets, and ideal customers. We’re creating the systems and interfaces that make this context visible, trustworthy, and actionable across the entire product.
We are launching a new, high-priority effort around Foundational Customer Context, and we’re looking for a Frontend Technical Lead to help build and lead it.
About the RoleAt HubSpot, Tech Leads are the heart of our engineering teams. This is a hybrid role where you’ll combine strong individual contributor skills with technical, product, and team leadership.
You’ll be the founding Frontend Technical Lead for a new team responsible for building the user-facing experiences that allow customers to:
- View and manage foundational business facts (e.g., brand identity, ideal customer profile, addressable market)
- Understand how those inputs power AI-driven experiences across HubSpot
- Maintain control over the context that shapes their intelligent workflows
This initiative has broad product impact and high visibility across the organization. The experiences you build will influence AI-powered workflows used daily by customers.
As a Frontend Technical Lead II, you will:- Write and ship production code with meaningful customer and business impact
- Lead frontend architecture and technical direction for a new, high-impact product surface
- Partner closely with your PM and Designer to define compelling, challenging goals for the team
- Drive projects end-to-end — from problem framing through execution and iteration
- Make pragmatic technical decisions that prioritize long-term maintainability and product velocity
- Work proactively to solve reliability and performance issues
- Foster a culture of autonomy, psychological safety, and engineering excellence
- Mentor and grow engineers, helping senior engineers expand their scope and impact
- Set a high bar for quality and reliability without slowing teams down
- Strong senior frontend engineering skills: hands-on experience with modern web frameworks such as React, strong JavaScript / TypeScript fundamentals, and the ability to deliver consumer-grade UI experiences in collaboration with UX design partners.
- Experience leading small, customer-focused engineering teams
- Comfort operating as a technical authority in your domain and making architectural decisions with autonomy
- Experience building complex, data-rich interfaces (configuration systems, stateful workflows, settings experiences, etc.)
- Pragmatic decision-making and strong problem-solving abilities
- A deep focus on the user — you care about clarity, usability, and delivering meaningful value
- Passion for mentoring and cultivating growth in others
- A commitment to building diverse, inclusive, and psychologically safe teams
- High Product Impact: The interfaces you build will power AI-driven experiences across HubSpot.
- Founding Opportunity: You’ll help define frontend standards and patterns within a brand-new initiative.

Pay & Benefits
The cash compensation below includes base salary, on-target commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are tailored to your skills, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons.
