The opportunity

We are representing an established strategy advisory firm specializing in management consulting, private equity support, and business transformation. The firm helps organizations across multiple verticals optimize their operations and is now looking to launch a new Technology & Automation Practice.
This new division aims to bridge the gap between strategic advice and tangible execution by developing bespoke software solutions that automate legacy workflows - from CRM handoffs to invoice processing - without requiring disruptive legacy system replacements.

We are seeking a high-caliber Technical Lead who sits at the intersection of business strategy and modern software engineering. This individual will not just write code; they will translate complex business processes into functional, scalable applications using AI-accelerated development workflows, specifically leveraging the Replit ecosystem.

The successful candidate will lead the architecture of initial pilot projects and eventually build and manage a team of developers as the service offering scales.

About the organization

Our client is an established strategy advisory firm specializing in management consulting, private equity support, and business transformation. It serves organizations across multiple verticals, helping them optimize operations. The client is launching Technology & Automation Practice focused on developing bespoke software that automates legacy workflows without requiring disruptive system replacements. The client name will be shared with shortlisted candidates before the client interview.

What you will do

·        Solution Architecture: Design and oversee the development of custom business applications (CRM, PM tools, data integration layers) that solve specific operational pain points for SMB clients.
·        AI-Assisted Development Leadership: Utilize advanced AI coding platforms (specifically Replit Agent/Builder) to accelerate delivery cycles. You must possess the architectural judgment to guide AI outputs, ensuring robustness, security, and scalability rather than relying solely on automated generation.
·        Process Translation: Leverage existing "as-is" process documentation (including video walkthroughs and JSON requirement outputs) to transform manual workflows into functional digital systems.
·        Integration Strategy: Design and implement workflows that capture inbound client requests and manage project lifecycles, ensuring seamless data handover into existing legacy accounting systems (e.g., Sage 300) without requiring disruptive replacements of current infrastructure.
·        Team Building & Mentorship: Long-term, as the business matures, identify, hire, and mentor junior developers, establishing best practices for AI-augmented development within the team.
·        Quality Assurance & Stability: Ensure high availability and reliability of deployed applications, managing infrastructure stability and monitoring performance metrics.

RequirementsWhat you bring
·        Hybrid Skill Set: Proven experience as both a Software Engineer and a Business Analyst/Product Manager. You understand both the technical constraints of building apps and the commercial drivers of business operations.
·        Key Technical Skill: Demonstrated ability to use AI assistants (Replit, Lovable, or similar) effectively to ship production-ready code rapidly. You know when to trust the AI and when to intervene manually.
·        Full-Stack Knowledge: Strong understanding of frontend/backend architectures, database management (SQL/NoSQL), and API design/integration.
·        Business Application Experience: Prior experience building or optimizing CRMs, project management tools, or internal operational software.
·        Architectural Mindset: Ability to think beyond the immediate task to design systems that can scale from a single client to hundreds.
·        Communication: Excellent ability to bridge the gap between non-technical business owners and technical execution.

Soft Skills & Attributes
·        Entrepreneurial Mindset: Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes ownership of outcomes.
·        Comfort with Ambiguity: Able to navigate undefined problems and make strategic decisions without a rigid playbook.
·        Independent Worker: Highly autonomous, capable of managing priorities and delivering results with minimal oversight.
·        Mentorship Potential: Natural leader with the potential to coach and develop future hires as the team expands.
Helpful, but not essential
  • Experience working in or with Professional Services, Consulting, or BPO environments.
  • Familiarity with legacy system migration strategies.
  • Previous experience leading remote teams or operating in a startup/early-stage capacity.

BenefitsHow the engagement works

Contracting party: To be confirmed. Day to day, you will work closely with the client team; the reporting line will be confirmed during the process.

This is a remote, full-time engagement. You are expected to provide your own laptop and basic equipment, maintain reliable connectivity and a secure working environment, and follow required security controls, including two-factor authentication.

The engagement includes flexible working hours, with US time-zone overlap required as needed to support client and project delivery.
